Common container house sizes vary, mainly including standard sizes, domestic general sizes, export general sizes, and customized sizes.

I. Standard Sizes

The standard sizes of dry cargo containers commonly used internationally are as follows:

• 20-foot container: External dimensions are 20x8x8 feet 6 inches, with internal dimensions approximately 5898x2352x2390mm.
• 40-foot container: External dimensions are 40x8x8 feet 6 inches, with internal dimensions approximately 12024x2352x2390mm.
• 40-foot high cube container: More commonly used, with an increased internal volume.
• 45-foot high cube container: Internal volume is 13.58x2.34x2.68 meters.
• 20-foot open-top container: Internal volume is 5.89x2.32x2.31 meters.

II. Domestic General Sizes

The commonly used standard size for container houses in China is 6 meters in length, 3 meters in width, and 2.9 meters in height. This size of container house is well-suited for construction site offices and temporary living scenarios, with an internal net height of approximately 2.6 meters and an expanded area of about 18 square meters. It can accommodate a double bed, a simple desk, and a standing wardrobe, making efficient use of space. Additionally, it is easy to hoist, compliant with transportation regulations, and has a smooth internal flow.

III. Export General Sizes

The export general size is 6 meters in length, 2.4 meters in width, and 2.9 meters in height. Compared to the domestic general size, there is a difference in width, primarily to meet different transportation and usage requirements.

IV. Customized Sizes

In addition to the common sizes mentioned above, sizes can also be customized according to needs. For example, there are various customized specifications such as 3m×3m, 3m×8m, and 3m×9m. There are even customized solutions that form larger spaces by combining multiple containers, such as combining three 40-foot container houses, resulting in dimensions of 11.8m×6.75m×2.8m and a usable area of up to 80 square meters, which can meet the layout requirements of different functional areas such as living rooms and bedrooms.
