Yingyang Cement Prefabricated Panel House
Yingyang cement prefabricated panel houses are constructed using prefabricated panels as the main components. They have been applied in rural areas of Henan and feature high construction efficiency and low costs, but also have shortcomings such as limited design flexibility and the need for improvement in thermal insulation and seismic performance.

Construction Method: Cement prefabricated panel houses use factory-made cement components—prefabricated panels—as the main building blocks. To make these panels, a wooden mold is first nailed together, then steel bars are arranged inside the mold, and finally, cement is poured to form the panel. The construction process is similar to building with blocks. After the prefabricated cement panel components are transported to the construction site, a few workers can assemble a villa in just four hours, and it takes only two days to build an entire building. Compared to traditional construction methods, this significantly improves efficiency and shortens the construction period.
Cost Advantages: Cement prefabricated panel houses offer obvious cost advantages. The cost per square meter is only around 300 RMB, and the cost of a large villa is just over 100,000 RMB, far lower than that of traditional brick-and-mortar structures. This makes them a very attractive option for builders with limited budgets.
Shortcomings:
- Design Flexibility: The design of cement prefabricated panel houses may lack flexibility. Since the prefabricated panels are made in advance at the factory, their shapes and sizes are relatively fixed, making it difficult to adjust and change them according to actual needs during construction. This may not meet some personalized and diverse architectural design requirements.
- Thermal Insulation Performance: Their thermal insulation performance needs further research and improvement. Compared to traditional brick-and-mortar houses, cement prefabricated panel houses may have a certain gap in thermal insulation, which could affect the indoor living comfort, especially in areas with extreme climates or large temperature differences.
- Seismic Performance: In earthquake-prone areas, the seismic performance of cement prefabricated panel houses also needs further attention and enhancement. Due to the connection methods between the prefabricated panels and the overall structural characteristics, the house may face a greater risk of damage during an earthquake. Therefore, corresponding seismic design and reinforcement measures are required to improve its safety.
