Yan'an Container House Design

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

The design of container houses in Yan'an takes modularity and standardization as its core, integrating terrain and climate adaptability, functional diversity, and environmental protection and economic efficiency to form an innovative architectural system with regional characteristics.

I. Modular and Standardized Design
Container houses in Yan'an use standard containers or similar boxes as basic units. Factory-prefabricated modules of uniform specifications (such as 3×6×2.8 meters) are employed, enabling rapid assembly and combination through standardized interfaces. The structural framework is made of galvanized profiled steel (with a thickness of 2.5/3.0 mm) to ensure resistance to deformation. The ground base layer uses fireproof boards, and the wall panels are filled with glass wool panels, balancing structural strength and fire safety. This design model shortens the on-site construction period while reducing material costs through large-scale production.

II. Terrain and Climate Adaptability Optimization
In response to the complex terrain of the Loess Plateau in Yan'an, the design adopts point-type or elevated foundations, adjusting the support height to adapt to conditions such as slopes and soft soil, reducing ecological damage caused by traditional excavation. Regarding climate, considering the characteristics of severe cold in winter and intense heat in summer, high-performance insulation materials (such as polyurethane or rock wool) are filled in the walls and roofs, and plastic-steel hollow glass windows are used to form an insulation layer, reducing energy consumption. The ventilation system improves indoor air quality and thermal comfort through adjustable louvers and natural convection design.

III. Functional Diversity and Scenario Expansion
The modular nature supports the horizontal or vertical connection of container houses, creating flexible spatial combinations. For example, horizontal splicing can build community activity centers or temporary office areas, while vertical stacking can create multi-story dormitories or guesthouses. Enterprises such as Shaanxi Huateng offer customized configurations, including air-conditioning sockets, LED lighting, and fire doors, to meet the needs of different scenarios such as sales offices, mobile toilets, and commercial shops. Some cases further expand the artistic expression of container houses through irregular cutting and a machine-aesthetic appearance.

IV. Balance between Environmental Protection and Economic Efficiency
The design emphasizes material recycling, with the main structure using recyclable sandwich panels and fireproof boards to reduce construction waste. Manufacturers such as Xi'an De'en offer integrated services of 'design-production-installation-leasing' to reduce the full life-cycle cost. For example, temporary projects (such as exhibitions and construction site dormitories) can be disassembled and reused, while long-term projects can extend their service life through module updates, achieving the dual goals of economic efficiency and environmental protection.
