This station connects the entire collection and transportation process through the "two-network integration" model, promoting the resource utilization of domestic waste. Residents can deliver recyclables here to receive cash rewards and "carbon credits", turning waste into treasure.
On the Han Culture Square in Xianfeng Community, Lushan County, idle containers have been transformed into the "Jiajiale Neighborhood Space", becoming an important carrier for community services. This space features four functional areas: the "Warm Heart Station", "Shared Tool Room", "Child Protection Corner", and "Charity Sale Area", providing residents with services such as free drinking water, tool borrowing, emergency supplies, and public welfare products. Through the "old clothes for goods" mechanism, the collected old clothes are sorted, with those in more than 70% new condition sold at low prices in the charity sale area, and the rest connected to county-level recycling enterprises. All the funds obtained are reinvested in the community fund.
Environmental Advantages of Container Houses
The transformation and reuse of container houses align with the concept of green development. Their standardized structure offers advantages such as high factory prefabrication rates, short on-site assembly periods (7-15 days), and strong earthquake and wind resistance (capable of withstanding magnitude 8 earthquakes and typhoon force 12). After disposal, the steel recycling rate exceeds 95%, significantly reducing the ecological footprint. Recycling System to be Improved
Although Ya'an has made progress in the transformation of container houses, a professional recycling system for container houses has not yet been established. The existing cases mainly focus on transformation and reuse, without involving the disassembly, classification, and remanufacturing of container houses after retirement. In the future, it is necessary to further explore the full life cycle management of container houses and promote innovation in recycling processes, such as developing low-pollution and high-efficiency container steel recycling processes by referring to the green recycling technology of spent lithium iron phosphate batteries.
