Xining Modular Container House

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

The Xining modular container house is a modular building form that uses a steel frame, integrates insulation and water and electricity pipelines, and is adapted to the plateau climate. It features rapid deployment, low cost, and strong earthquake resistance.

Structural and Material Characteristics

The main structure is made of weather-resistant steel, which has high compressive strength and durability. The walls of the container are filled with rock wool or polyurethane foam as insulation layers, and are covered with metal decorative panels on both the inside and outside. The standard container size is 6 meters or 12 meters in length, 2.4 meters in width, and 2.6 meters in height, and they are firmly combined through corner-piece connection systems. In response to the cold climate in Xining, the thickness of the insulation layer is increased to over 10 centimeters. The windows use double-glazed glass, and the exterior walls are painted with light-colored reflective coatings to cope with strong ultraviolet rays. Heating equipment is required in winter.

Regional Adaptability Design

Xining has large temperature differences between day and night, with winter temperatures dropping to -20°C. The container houses optimize their adaptability through the following designs:

  1. Enhanced Insulation: Increase the thickness of the insulation layer, use high-density rock wool or polyurethane, with an insulation coefficient lower than 0.3W/(m·K) to reduce heat loss.
  2. Wind and Earthquake Resistance: Strengthen the node connection design to meet the requirements of an 8-degree seismic fortification intensity. The flexible earthquake-resistant structure adapts to the plateau geological conditions.
  3. Ecological Adaptation: The foundation treatment uses concrete piers or steel frame bases with a depth not lower than the permafrost layer to prevent frost heave damage. The water and electricity pipelines are equipped with insulation sleeves, and the electrical circuits are equipped with leakage protection to adapt to the extreme plateau environment.

Application Scenarios and Advantages

  1. Temporary Buildings: Used as office spaces and dormitories on construction sites, a combination of 3-5 containers can form a 60-square-meter living space equipped with basic living facilities, shortening the construction period by more than 60%.
  2. Commercial Spaces: Cultural and creative parks create unique circulation layouts by staggering, cutting, and adding corridors to the containers, and enhance the visual effect by combining artistic paintings.
  3. Ecological Projects: The ecological protection projects around Qinghai Lake use modular houses with built-in solar heating systems to solve the living problems in areas far from urban pipe networks. The construction camps along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway and new energy power stations have a disassembly and reassembly turnover rate of more than 5 times, with high resource utilization.

Cost and Technical Advantages

The procurement cost of a single standard container ranges from 8,000 to 15,000 yuan, the renovation cost ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 yuan, the transportation and hoisting cost ranges from 2,000 to 5,000 yuan, the foundation construction cost ranges from 3,000 to 8,000 yuan, and the water and electricity connection cost ranges from 2,000 to 4,000 yuan. The total cost is about 30% lower than that of traditional buildings. Local factories in Xining have introduced German fully automatic production lines, with an annual output of 100,000 square meters of modular panels. They use BIM full-process management, with component errors controlled within millimeters. The product fire resistance rating reaches Class A and is exported to high-altitude areas such as Tibet and Gansu.
