What Does Prefabricated House Components Mean

Quản trị 19 tháng 9, 2026

Prefabricated house components refer to building components that are pre-manufactured in a factory through industrial production methods and then transported to the construction site for assembly, forming various parts of a house.

The production scope of prefabricated house components covers core structural elements such as walls, floor slabs, roof panels, beams, and columns. Their production relies on a factory environment, utilizing standardized molds and concrete pouring techniques to ensure that the components have regular shapes and precise dimensions. They also undergo a rigorous curing process to achieve the required strength and durability as per design specifications. This production method breaks through the limitations of traditional on-site construction by shifting the manufacturing of building components from the construction site to the factory, achieving a deep integration of industrialization and standardization.

From a technical perspective, prefabricated house components have two core advantages:
1. Standardized and Modular Design
Components are produced according to uniform specifications, with dimensional accuracy reaching the millimeter level, and errors are much lower than those of on-site pouring. For example, the thickness deviation of prefabricated floor slabs is typically controlled within ±2mm, while the deviation in traditional methods may exceed ±5mm. Modular design allows components to be flexibly combined like 'LEGO bricks', adapting to different architectural layout requirements while reducing on-site cutting waste.

2. Industrial Production Ensures Quality
The factory environment enables strict control over concrete mix ratios, vibration frequencies, and curing conditions. Taking prefabricated walls as an example, their compressive strength can reach C30-C50 (traditional on-site pouring is mostly C25-C35), and performance indicators such as water resistance and fire resistance are more stable. Additionally, the production process of components allows for full traceability of quality, with data records kept from raw material inspection to finished product shipment.

The application scenarios of prefabricated house components are wide-ranging:

  • Residential Construction: In affordable housing and commercial housing projects, components such as prefabricated exterior wall panels and composite floor slabs can shorten the construction period by 30%-50% while reducing the amount of construction waste generated by about 60%.
  • Commercial Buildings: Large shopping malls and office buildings that adopt prefabricated frame structures can achieve large-span space designs, and the construction noise is reduced by more than 20 decibels compared to traditional methods.
  • Temporary Buildings: Prefabricated container-style houses can be quickly erected for emergency hospitals and quarantine points. Their modular nature supports later disassembly and reassembly, with a resource utilization rate of over 90%.

As the process of building industrialization accelerates, prefabricated house components are upgrading from single components to integrated products such as complete bathrooms and prefabricated staircases, driving the construction industry towards a greener and more efficient direction.
