Waterproof Strip for Container Houses

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The commonly used material for waterproof strips in container houses is ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber (EPDM). The types include T-shaped and I-shaped sealing strips, with functions covering waterproofing, dust prevention, corrosion resistance, and aging resistance. Installation methods include self-adhesive or screw fixation.

Material Characteristics

EPDM is the core material for container waterproof strips, featuring aging resistance, UV resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance. It can be used for a long time in environments ranging from -50℃ to 150℃ and is not prone to deformation or cracking after exposure to sunlight or rain. For example, the T-shaped sealing strips produced by Qinghe Fuxuan use this material, with excellent elasticity. When the door is closed, they can automatically rebound to ensure a tight seal of the gaps. Some products add silicone components to further enhance flexibility and sealing performance. For instance, silicone foam sealing strips form a microporous structure through the foaming process, enhancing cushioning and sound insulation effects.

Types and Functions

Waterproof strips can be classified into T-shaped, I-shaped, and Tee-shaped according to their shapes, suitable for different installation scenarios.

  • T-shaped: Mainly used in easily leaking parts such as the corners of the rear door of containers. They can be cut and directly pasted to fill the gaps.
  • I-shaped: Suitable for the doors of box trucks or containers. They are fixed to the door frame through slots on both sides, providing both waterproofing and thermal insulation functions. Some products can be customized in thickness to match different door bodies.
  • Tee-shaped: Often used for filling gaps in solar photovoltaic panels or containers. The raised top design can effectively block rainwater penetration. In terms of functions, waterproof strips need to meet the requirements of waterproofing, dust prevention, corrosion resistance, and aging resistance simultaneously. For example, the I-shaped sealing strips from Jitai Automotive Supplies are fixed with screws, can withstand temperatures as low as -40℃, prevent freezing and cracking, and have corrosion-resistant properties to extend their service life.

Installation Methods

The installation method of waterproof strips directly affects the sealing effect.

  • Self-adhesive type: With strong adhesive on the back, they can be directly pasted after tearing off the protective film. They are easy to operate and suitable for quick repairs or temporary sealing, such as the T-shaped sealing strips from Qinghe Fuxuan.
  • Screw-fixed type: The sealing strips are fixed to the door frame with metal screws, providing stronger stability. They are suitable for long-term use or vibrating environments. For example, the I-shaped sealing strips from Jitai offer a variety of thickness options to fit different door body structures.
