Water Storage Portable Toilet
A water storage portable toilet is a toilet facility that utilizes a water storage device for the storage or treatment of fecal sewage and features portability, suitable for construction sites, temporary event venues, and other scenarios.

Basic Structure
The main container of a water storage portable toilet is a water storage tank or barrel, which is cut and spliced to form an enclosed space. For example, a recycled plastic water storage tank has its top opened and is then stacked and fixed. A rectangular doorway measuring 180 centimeters in height and 50 centimeters in width is cut out. Holes are made in the interior floor to install drainage elbows and pipes, creating a fecal sewage discharge channel. Some designs use wooden strips or plastic soft boards to increase the height of the walls, enhancing structural stability.
Functional Components
- Sanitary Ware: The core component is a toilet, fixed above the drainage outlet, with a water tank connected to an inlet pipe for flushing. Some designs expand the functionality to include showering by adding a shower bracket and a spray-type showerhead, and connecting to a water source using a three-way connector.
- Washing Equipment: Holes are made in the pipe cap and coated with glass glue to fix a stainless steel basin as a handwashing basin, with a drainage pipe connected below for handwashing functionality.
- Mobile Device: Universal wheels are installed at the four corners of the bottom of the pallet or wooden board, facilitating overall movement and redeployment.
Materials and Craftsmanship
The main materials are recycled plastic water storage tanks or barrels, which are cut and fixed with self-tapping screws. The walls may be heightened using plastic soft boards or wooden strips. Sealing is a crucial step: the area around the drainage pipe is sealed with glue, the edge of the toilet is glued in place, and the connection between the handwashing basin and the pipe cap is coated with glass glue to prevent sewage leakage and odor diffusion.
Application Scenarios and Precautions
This type of toilet is suitable for areas lacking fixed public toilets, such as construction sites and temporary event venues, and can be repeatedly disassembled and assembled, offering high flexibility. For example, the Lanzhou Yellow River Scenic Area has deployed portable toilets to make up for the shortage of public toilets. However, the sewage tank needs to be cleaned regularly to prevent odor diffusion or blockage of the drainage system due to the accumulation of fecal sewage. Additionally, material selection should balance durability and environmental friendliness, ensuring that plastic water storage tanks are non-toxic and harmless to avoid environmental pollution.
Through modular design, water storage portable toilets achieve the core functions of 'water storage - discharge - mobility'. Their low cost and ease of maintenance make them the preferred option for temporary sanitary facilities.
