Materials for Converting Truck Containers into Houses

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

The conversion of truck containers into houses primarily involves materials such as steel structural frames, enclosure panels, insulation materials, doors, windows, and hardware fittings.

Steel Structural Frames: These are the main structural components of container houses, requiring sufficient strength and stability. Typically, galvanized steel structural frames are used, with thicknesses ranging from 1.7mm to 2.0mm, and some high-quality products being even thicker to ensure wind and earthquake resistance. For example, the container houses produced by Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd. use galvanized steel structural frames with a thickness of ≥2.0mm, achieving a wind resistance rating of up to Level 10 and meeting relevant seismic performance standards.

Enclosure Panels: These include wall and roof panels, commonly using cold-rolled profiled sheets, corrugated sheets, and color-coated steel sheets. These panels need to possess good weather resistance, corrosion resistance, and thermal insulation properties. For instance, in cold regions, panels with a high weather-resistant polyester resin coating and a moisture-proof aluminum foil layer can be used to reduce the probability of condensation and improve living comfort.

Insulation Materials: For container houses requiring thermal insulation, insulation materials such as rock wool sandwich panels and polystyrene foam boards need to be filled in the walls and roofs. These materials effectively isolate indoor and outdoor temperature differences, improving energy efficiency.

Doors, Windows, and Hardware Fittings: Doors and windows need to have good sealing and weather resistance to prevent wind and rain intrusion. Hardware fittings such as locks and hinges should also be of reliable quality to ensure safety in use.

Other Materials: Depending on specific needs, auxiliary materials such as water and electricity pipelines, quick connectors, and sealing strips may also be involved. The selection and installation of these materials need to comply with relevant codes and standards to ensure the overall performance and safety of the container house.
