Relocation of Toilet Squat Position

Quản trị 06 tháng 10, 2026

The relocation of a toilet squat position can be achieved through two main methods: breaking and reinstalling or using a toilet offset flange, depending on the relocation distance and actual needs.

Method 1: Breaking and Reinstalling the Squat Toilet

If a large-scale adjustment of the squat toilet position is required (such as moving across rooms or over long distances), a complete renovation of the drainage system is necessary. The specific steps are as follows:

  1. Remove the original squat toilet: Use professional tools to break the original squat toilet, clean up the residual fragments and surrounding cement layers, and ensure that the connection of the sewer pipe is clearly exposed.
  2. Relay the drainage pipes: Plan the drainage path according to the new position and connect it to the main sewer pipe. Pay attention to the slope design of the pipes, generally recommending a slope of 1%-3% to ensure smooth drainage and prevent water accumulation or backflow.
  3. Floor repair and waterproofing: Before laying new floor tiles, level the floor and apply waterproof coating to prevent leakage. If the relocation involves drilling holes in the floor slab, seal the holes with cement mortar and strengthen the waterproofing.
  4. Install a new squat toilet: Position the new squat toilet according to standard dimensions (such as a center-to-wall distance of 42 centimeters), fix it, connect it to the drainage pipe, and test the flushing effect and sealing performance. The advantages of this method are thorough relocation and high stability of the drainage system; the disadvantages are large construction volume, high cost, and potential damage to the original floor structure.

Method 2: Using a Toilet Offset Flange

If only a small-scale adjustment (10-40 centimeters) is needed, a toilet offset flange is a more convenient choice. Key points are as follows:

  1. Applicable scenarios: A toilet offset flange is suitable for short-distance relocation. Relocation beyond 40 centimeters may result in insufficient flushing force due to overly long pipes, increasing the risk of blockage.
  2. Installation requirements:
    • Slope control: Reserve a slope of 1%-3% during construction to ensure that sewage can naturally flow to the main pipe.
    • Type of toilet offset flange: Preferably choose an offset flange with an adjustable center distance (such as 6-7 centimeters). When installing, ensure that the bottom of the offset flange is flush with the floor to ensure complete coverage after tiling.
    • Pipe selection: Use 110-millimeter flat pipes or special flat pipes to reduce the impact of bends on water flow. For example, after connecting the offset flange to a short pipe, seal the connection with special glue to prevent leakage.
  3. Precautions: A toilet offset flange may reduce flushing efficiency, so avoid pouring large debris into it during daily use; if the relocation distance is close to the upper limit (such as 40 centimeters), it is recommended to use a powerful flushing squat toilet to reduce the probability of blockage.

Summary: For small-scale relocation, a toilet offset flange is preferred due to its low cost and fast construction; for large-scale relocation, breaking and reinstalling is necessary, which involves a large construction volume but offers better long-term stability. Before construction, be sure to confirm the floor slab structure and the position of the main drainage pipe to avoid damaging the load-bearing structure or causing leakage.
