Tips for Using Portable Toilets

Quản trị 08 tháng 10, 2026

Tips for using portable toilets should be selected according to the type, as follows:

Portable movable toilets: Before use, ensure that the toilet is firmly fixed. The bottom or side of the toilet is usually designed with a buckle structure. Pressing the buckle allows you to disassemble related components (such as the black water tank or the toilet bowl). If flushing is required, you can fill the water tank with clean water. After filling, press the flush button to achieve a cleaning effect. After use, waste should be disposed of promptly: first, press the buckle to remove the black water tank, pour the excrement into designated sewage discharge points or septic tanks, and avoid dumping it directly into the natural environment; if the water tank is detachable, it should be cleaned and disinfected separately to prevent bacterial growth.

Portable toilets for public places: Regular maintenance of the sewage system is required. Check whether the pipes are blocked and whether the sealing is good to avoid sewage leakage or odor diffusion. Ventilation management is crucial. Air circulation can be promoted by installing exhaust fans or keeping doors and windows open to reduce stuffiness and odor accumulation. In addition, avoid heavy objects hitting the toilet shell or internal facilities to prevent structural damage and potential safety hazards during use; if any components are found to be loose or damaged, they should be repaired or replaced promptly.

Outdoor portable toilets (for camping):

  • Pit-digging use: In remote camping sites where pit-digging is allowed, choose a location at least 60 meters away from water sources and the campsite to dig a pit. The recommended depth is more than 50 centimeters, with vertical pit walls and a flat foot-resting area for easy use. The excavated soil should be stacked separately. After use, cover the excrement with a shovel, thoroughly fill and compact the pit when leaving the campsite, and restore the ground surface to its original state. To prevent insect and ant infestations, sulfur powder or insect repellent can be sprinkled around the toilet tent.
  • Three-piece set use: If pit-digging is prohibited at the campsite (such as on rocky ground or in ecological protection areas), a folding toilet, garbage bags, and fecal solidifying agents should be used together. First, sprinkle the solidifying agent into the garbage bag before use. After defecation, tightly seal the bag to avoid leakage; after use, seal the garbage bag and take it away from the campsite, and dispose of it at designated garbage disposal points. Random disposal is strictly prohibited.
  • Hygiene maintenance: Regardless of the method used, keep the interior of the toilet tent clean and regularly clean up residual stains; after use, wipe the toilet surface with disinfectant wipes to reduce the risk of bacterial transmission; if equipped with a sink, promptly replenish clean water and clean the sink to prevent mosquito breeding.

The above methods should be applied flexibly according to the actual situation. The core principles are to ensure safety during use, reduce environmental pollution, and maintain public hygiene.
