Thailand Container Temporary Housing
Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026
Thailand container temporary housing is a movable and combinable temporary residential building formed by transforming and designing standard containers as basic modules. It has the characteristics of rapid construction, low cost, and strong adaptability.

Design and Structural Features
- Modular Design: Using standard containers as units, they are combined into buildings of different scales and functions through stacking and splicing. For example, some vacation homes use two 20-foot containers connected to create a main public lounge, with an open-air courtyard accommodated by another container and the top-level container serving as a private bedroom.
- Flexible Space Utilization: The internal space of containers can be divided and transformed according to needs. For instance, some container cabins retain the corrugated plate structure inside. The restaurant layout is simple and spacious, with glass windows replacing walls to increase brightness. Although the private bedroom has a small space, the three-sided panoramic glass windows offer a broad view.
- Adaptation to Special Terrain and Environments: In remote areas where it is difficult to transport building materials and there is a lack of skilled workers, container temporary housing is an ideal choice. For example, in the low-lying and flood-prone area of Nakhon Nayok Province in Thailand, architects first dug a reservoir to create high ground and then built container houses on elevated embankments. They also adopted a triangular roof structure to cope with the tropical climate, avoiding heat transfer and rainwater accumulation.
Advantages
- Rapid Construction: The basic foldable container house can be unfolded from a storage state into a complete space within 10 minutes by two people working together, quickly meeting the needs of emergency accommodation and temporary shops.
- Low Cost: Compared with traditional residential construction, the cost of container houses is significantly reduced. For example, Zeyu Housing's foldable container houses are priced between 7,000 and 10,000 yuan, which is only one-fifth to one-third of the cost of traditional residential construction. Moreover, they have a service life of up to 20 years, and the steel recycling rate exceeds 90%.
- High Mobility: Container houses can be relocated and reassembled according to needs, improving the flexibility and reuse rate of buildings.
