Specifications of Portable Toilets

Quản trị 12 tháng 10, 2026

The specifications of portable toilets vary depending on the type. Here are the common types and their specifications:

Single-unit Portable Toilets The length typically ranges from 1.2 to 1.5 meters, the width from 1.0 to 1.2 meters, and the height from 2.2 to 2.5 meters. They are suitable for construction sites, small events, etc. The regular model has dimensions of 110 cm in length, 110 cm in width, and 230 cm in height. The mini model is more compact, with dimensions of 100 cm in length, 100 cm in width, and 220 cm in height, making it ideal for small exhibitions or commercial streets with high foot traffic. These toilets mainly feature a single toilet cubicle, with a design focused on space utilization to meet basic toilet needs.

Double-unit Portable Toilets The length ranges from 2.4 to 3.0 meters, the width from 1.2 to 1.5 meters, and the height from 2.2 to 2.5 meters. They are commonly found at large events, tourist attractions, etc. Some double-occupancy models have dimensions of 180 cm in length, 110 cm in width, and 230 cm in height, allowing two people to use them simultaneously and improving usage efficiency. Their design alleviates queueing pressure during peak hours by increasing the number of toilet cubicles.

Multi-functional Portable Toilets The length can reach 3.0 to 4.5 meters, the width 2.0 to 2.5 meters, and the height 2.5 to 3.0 meters. They are suitable for high-end events or long-term fixed locations. These toilets offer more comprehensive functions, possibly integrating sinks, storage cabinets, and even barrier-free facilities to meet diverse needs. Their space design needs to balance comfort and practicality, such as reserving sufficient aisle width for multiple people to use simultaneously.

Barrier-free Portable Toilets With dimensions of 180 cm in length, 150 cm in width, and 240 cm in height, they are specifically designed for individuals with mobility impairments. Their key feature is the reserved space for wheelchair turning, and internal facilities (such as handrails and toilet seat height) must comply with barrier-free standards. They are commonly found in large parks, scenic spot entrances, and other public places. These toilets must strictly adhere to the provisions regarding barrier-free facilities in the "Design Standard for Urban Public Toilets" (CJJ 14-2016).

Design Considerations and Precautions

  • Basic Specifications: The width of toilet cubicles should be no less than 0.9 meters, and the height of sinks is recommended to be between 0.8 and 0.9 meters to ensure comfort during use.
  • Compliance: All specifications must comply with national standards. For example, barrier-free toilets must meet the requirements for wheelchair passage and turning.
  • Transportation and Installation: During transportation, consider road height restrictions (such as a maximum height of 2.5 meters) and width restrictions. The installation site must have a flat ground to avoid structural damage or inconvenience due to tilting.

In different scenarios, appropriate specifications should be selected based on foot traffic density, usage duration, and functional requirements, and ensure that transportation and installation conditions match.
