Special Container House Design

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

The design of special container houses requires comprehensive consideration of multiple factors such as materials, structure, thermal performance, connection methods, corrosion resistance, and functional adaptability. The following are specific design points:

Materials and Structure

  • Steel Selection: High-strength weathering steel, such as Grade Q355B, is used. Its yield strength is approximately 30% higher than that of ordinary carbon steel, allowing for a reduction in material usage. For example, Yiqi Company achieves a self-balancing system for a single container with a length-to-width ratio close to 2:1 through rigid connections between corner fittings and side beams, reducing the need for additional reinforcement components.
  • Modular Design: Standardized modules are combined to enhance structural flexibility. For example, the Apple Pod uses a welded frame made of hot-dip galvanized square steel, supporting independent placement or modular assembly to meet the needs of single-room guesthouses to multi-functional spaces.

Thermal Performance Optimization

  • Envelope Structure: A composite structure is adopted to improve thermal insulation. For example, Yiqi Company uses a three-layer structure of "rock wool - air layer - aluminum-zinc coated steel plate," with a rock wool layer thickness of 75-100 mm and a thermal conductivity below 0.040 W/(m·K). Combined with a 5 mm air layer to suppress convective heat transfer, the overall heat transfer coefficient is below 0.5 W/(m²·K), reducing the risk of condensation.
  • Extreme Climate Adaptation: For extremely cold regions, the thickness of the insulation layer can be increased or integrated dual heating systems (floor heating and air conditioning) can be used. For example, the Apple Pod in Hokkaido uses a high-density polyurethane insulation layer combined with heat pump technology to achieve ultra-low energy building standards (K-value ≤ 0.28 W/㎡·K).

Connection and Seismic Design

  • Node Design: A dual-fixing mode of "wedge-shaped lock + high-strength bolt" is used to enhance seismic performance. For example, Yiqi Company's wedge-shaped lock has a slope angle of 15 degrees, controlling displacement to within 3 mm during an 8-degree rare earthquake, which is 40% better than conventional welded nodes.
  • Wind Resistance: A fully steel structural frame significantly improves wind resistance. For example, Suzhou Zhongnan Steel Structure Co., Ltd.'s products have a wind resistance rating of up to Level 12, with a frame deformation rate of only 0.18%, far below the industry's qualified threshold of 0.3%.

Corrosion Resistance and Durability

  • Coating System: A combination of "epoxy zinc-rich primer + polyurethane topcoat" is used. The primer contains over 80% zinc powder, and the topcoat has a hardness of 3H. It shows no red rust after 1000 hours of salt spray testing, supporting a service life of 25 years.

Functional Adaptation and Flexibility

  • Space Partitioning: Functional overlapping strategies are used to optimize the utilization of small spaces. For example, the Hohhot residential container house compresses the kitchen and bathroom into a wet area, while the living and sleeping areas achieve day-night functional switching through convertible furniture.
  • Portability: The design must consider transportation and installation efficiency. For example, the Suzhou Zhongnan folding container, when folded, has a volume only 1/5 of its expanded state, and a single set can be installed in just 2 hours, supporting rapid deployment.
