Small Container House Homestay

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

It is feasible to use small container houses as homestays, but certain conditions must be met and relevant issues should be noted.

I. Feasibility Analysis

  1. Cost and Time Advantages: Container homestays are prefabricated and renovated in factories, requiring only basic construction and utility connections on-site. The renovation period for a single container is 15-30 days, much shorter than the 3-6 months required for traditional homestays. The cost of purchasing retired containers is lower than that of traditional building materials, making the overall cost controllable and reducing on-site construction pollution and labor input.
  2. Scene Adaptability: Container homestays can be flexibly applied in scenic spots, campsites, rural cultural tourism, and other scenarios. By combining, stacking, and assembling multiple containers, loft and duplex units can be created to meet different accommodation needs. Their industrial-style appearance, combined with graffiti, green plants, and other elements, can create popular photo spots to attract guests.
  3. Technological Maturity: Regular manufacturers use modular design and industrial production, filling walls with high-density insulation materials such as rock wool or polyurethane, and forming a multi-layer protective system with moisture-proof and ventilation layers to cope with extreme weather. After calculation and reinforcement, the steel structure framework can withstand wind forces in most natural scenarios.

II. Key Considerations

  1. Renovation Process Requirements: Standardized containers must be selected and undergo standardized anti-corrosion treatment. Insulation layers should be installed inside, and facilities such as bathrooms and bedding should be fully equipped. If the process is not up to standard, problems such as container corrosion and poor insulation may occur, affecting the guest experience.
  2. Safety and Environmental Standards: Structural calculation reports and material test reports that meet standards must be provided to ensure structural safety and material environmental friendliness. Regular inspections of roof waterproofing, door and window sealing strips, and utility pipeline connections should be conducted daily.
  3. Differentiated Design: To avoid homogeneous competition, the original container logos, locks, and other details can be retained to enhance the thematic feel, or the color, door and window positions, and internal layout can be adjusted according to the operator's needs to create a unique accommodation experience.
