Single Container House Renovation

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

Single container house renovation can be approached from aspects such as structural reinforcement, thermal insulation, functional zoning, water and electricity systems, eco-friendly design, and aesthetic enhancement. Details are as follows:

  • Structural Reinforcement: The traditional container's bottom frame has large spacing between longitudinal beams, resulting in insufficient stiffness when used directly as a living space floor. C-shaped steel purlins can be installed between the bottom beams to evenly distribute loads to the main beams, enhancing structural stability and allowing the container to remain stable even when stacked three layers high. Additionally, shot blasting for rust removal on the container surface, followed by spraying with zinc-rich primer and polyurethane topcoat, forms a protective system that extends the service life of the steel.

  • Thermal Insulation: To address the thermal bridge effect of metal container walls, a broken-bridge lining structure can be adopted. Hard polyurethane foam is filled between the steel framework and interior wall panels, and rubber thermal insulation pads are installed at the connections of the studs to reduce heat exchange efficiency between the interior and exterior of the container. For camp dormitory projects, this treatment can raise the indoor temperature by 8 to 10 degrees Celsius compared to the outside in winter without heating, reducing reliance on heating equipment energy consumption.

  • Functional Zoning: The interior space of the container should be reasonably planned according to usage needs. For example, functional areas such as a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom can be set up. Foldable and movable furniture can be used to improve space utilization and meet usage needs in different scenarios.

  • Water and Electricity Systems: A complete water and electricity system should be installed, including water supply and drainage pipes, electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, and sockets. For wilderness camps without water and electricity, sewage collection tanks and gravity separators can be installed to treat gray and black water; solar panels can be installed on the roof to solve electricity problems.

  • Eco-friendly Design: Eco-friendly materials should be selected for decoration to reduce the impact on the environment. At the same time, the recyclability of materials should be considered to reduce disassembly and assembly loss rates. For example, using artificial boards instead of solid wood reduces costs and facilitates maintenance and replacement.

  • Aesthetic Enhancement: The appearance of the container can be aesthetically designed, such as by painting, installing doors and windows, and adding decorative elements, to improve the beauty and comfort of the house.
