How to Build a Simple Mobile Toilet
Quản trị 29 tháng 9, 2026
There are mainly two ways to build a simple mobile toilet: using a water storage barrel and using a water storage tank and a pallet. Here are the specific construction methods:

Construction using a water storage barrel:
- Basic structure construction: Take out a water storage barrel from home and split it in half with an angle grinder. Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board for easy movement. Fix wooden strips to the upper side of the barrel with self-tapping screws to increase the height and provide support for the subsequent installation of walls and a roof.
- Door and wall installation: Use an angle grinder to open a doorway on the side of the water storage barrel. Install sponge strips on both sides of the doorway to form a door frame. Insert plastic soft boards between the wooden strips to form raised walls. Place the upper half of the water storage barrel on top of the wooden strips to form a roof. Paint the wooden strips with white waterproof paint to enhance aesthetics. Use foam strips to splice discarded honeycomb wooden boards to make a simple door.
- Drainage and water system installation: Open a hole at the bottom of the barrel and install a drain pipe to form a floor drain. Open holes on the side and bottom of a plastic barrel and connect them with direct fittings. Place the plastic barrel on the roof to form a small water storage device. Connect the bath heater made of water pipes. Install a three-way fitting below the water inlet pipe and connect it to a showerhead. Place the toilet on the drain pipe opening, install the water tank and fix it with glass glue, and connect the drain pipe to the sewage tank. Horizontally connect a water pipe to the three-way fitting of the outlet pipe and extend it to the doorway as the water inlet pipe for the sink. Open a hole on the door and install a fitting.
Construction using a water storage tank and a pallet:
- Mobile base construction: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of a pallet with tools. Place a water storage tank recovered from a garbage station on the pallet.
- Tank processing and connection: Use an angle grinder to cut along the marked line on the top of the water storage tank to remove the top and form an open tank. Invert another open-top water storage tank and stack it on the first tank. Fix the outer frames of the two water storage tanks together with self-tapping screws.
- Internal facility installation: Cut a rectangular opening with a height of 180 cm and a width of 50 cm on the outer frame of the water storage tank as a doorway, and cut a corresponding opening on the tank body at the same time. Use a hole-opening tool to open a hole on the internal floor of the water storage tank. Insert a elbow from the bottom upwards and cut in a section of water pipe. Seal the gaps around the water pipe with glue. Cut off the excess water pipe protruding from the floor. Place the toilet in alignment with the drain opening and fix it with glue. Fix a water pipe on the wall clip and install a faucet. Fix a pipe cap with screws below the faucet. Connect a water pipe to the pipe cap and open a hole as a drain pipe outlet. Apply glass glue to the pipe cap and fix a sink made of a stainless steel basin. Connect the water inlet pipe to the toilet water tank, connect the shower hose and install a shower bracket. Install a toilet seat and a spray-type showerhead made of water pipes.
- Door installation: Bring a wooden board and fix hinges on the frame of the water storage tank. Fix the other side of the hinges to the wooden board to form the door of the toilet. Install a door handle on the door.
