Principles for Setting Up Mobile Toilets in Shipyard

Quản trị 16 tháng 10, 2026

The setup of mobile toilets in shipyards should adhere to the principles of safety, practicality, environmental protection, and ease of management. The specific standards are as follows:

1. Site Selection Safety Standards

  • Terrain and Drainage: Prioritize flat ground with slightly elevated terrain and good drainage to prevent rainwater from accumulating in low-lying areas and seeping into the toilet unit, thereby avoiding corrosion of the bottom frame or leakage from the sewage tank.
  • Environmental Isolation: Maintain a minimum distance of 15 meters from drinking water sources and food processing areas, keep away from power distribution equipment and gas storage points to mitigate the risk of liquid leakage; avoid main air vents to reduce odor diffusion.
  • Transportation Accessibility: Reserve space for the passage of lifting vehicles (width ≥ 4 meters) to ensure that the toilet can be smoothly hoisted to the designated location, facilitating subsequent waste removal and maintenance.

2. Pedestrian Flow Optimization

  • Decentralized Layout: Evenly distribute toilets along major pedestrian routes such as dormitory areas, construction zones, and docks to minimize the distance traveled by personnel and avoid congestion.
  • Barrier-Free Design: Provide at least one barrier-free toilet stall with a ramp slope of ≤1:12 and a width of ≥90 cm to meet the needs of individuals with special requirements.

3. Structure and Stability

  • Foundation Construction: Pour a concrete foundation according to the size and weight of the toilet to ensure it can withstand its own weight and usage loads; install windbreak ropes or ground anchors in windy areas to prevent tipping.
  • Corrosion Protection: Select waterproof, corrosion-resistant, and easy-to-clean materials (such as stainless steel) to extend the lifespan of the equipment and adapt to the seawater or chemical environment in shipyards.

4. Sewage Disposal and Hygiene Management

  • Sewage Disposal Methods: Design direct drainage pipes when close to municipal sewage networks; equip with septic tanks for independent use and arrange for immediate pumping when the sewage tank reaches 80% capacity.
  • Cleaning Regime: Conduct inspections every 2 hours during peak periods to clean water stains on the floor, replenish toilet paper and hand soap; provide trash bins inside to prevent mixed waste and odor diffusion.

5. Usage Safety and Convenience

  • Internal Facilities: Ensure simple and reliable door locks, equip with emergency call devices; provide sufficient lighting that is waterproof and explosion-proof, with non-slip and wear-resistant flooring; offer handwashing facilities, disinfectant, and hand-drying equipment.
  • Signage System: Install arrow-shaped directional signs on the floor and provide illuminated signs for nighttime activities; post usage instructions on the inside of toilet stall doors.

6. Adaptation to Special Scenarios

  • Extreme Climates: Install electric tracing systems and antifreeze solutions for sewage tanks in cold regions; increase ventilation openings and powerful exhaust fans in hot regions.
  • Privacy and Aesthetics: Use greenery or barriers to shield the toilets, reducing visual interference with work areas and enhancing environmental harmony.
