Shanxi has taken multiple measures in the mobile toilet renovation project to enhance public service levels.

Firstly, during the May Day holiday in 2024, the Jinci Scenic Area in Shanxi innovatively implemented a restroom optimization plan. The scenic area temporarily converted men's restrooms into women's restrooms and deployed additional buses as mobile men's restrooms. This measure, based on a summary of past experiences, aimed to effectively alleviate the long queues at women's restrooms. The buses were carefully parked in areas that did not obstruct tourist movement or the appearance of ancient buildings, serving as a valuable supplement to the restrooms. Through this optimization measure, during peak tourist periods, the average daily reception capacity of restrooms in the area significantly increased from about 3,000 people to 5,000 people. This change not only improved the efficiency of restroom use but also greatly enhanced tourist satisfaction and experience.

Secondly, in 2024, the main urban area of Changzhi City also actively promoted the mobile toilet renovation project. The city launched a procurement project for mobile prefabricated public restrooms (urban stations). With a budget of up to 1,773,800.00 yuan, this project aimed to further enhance the convenience and comfort of urban public services by purchasing mobile prefabricated public restrooms. The procurement requirements covered all aspects of the 2024 mobile prefabricated public restroom (urban station) project in the main urban area of Changzhi City, with specific requirements detailed in the bidding documents. Notably, the project did not accept joint bids to ensure the fairness and transparency of the procurement process.

These measures taken by Shanxi in the mobile toilet renovation project not only reflect the government's emphasis on improving public service facilities but also demonstrate its innovative capabilities and practical wisdom in addressing public facility pressures during peak tourist periods.
