Shandong Container House Villa

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

The Shandong container house villa is a residential space with villa functions, constructed by splicing and transforming containers as the basic units. It features modularity, mobility, and personalization.

I. Design Features

  1. Flexible Space Layout: Functional areas such as living rooms, bedrooms, and bathrooms can be expanded through the splicing or staggered stacking of 2-3 containers. For example,打通 (connecting) two containers can create a flat layout with an integrated living and dining area, two bedrooms, and a bathroom with a bathtub, covering an area of approximately 100㎡. Staggered designs can create richer spatial hierarchies, with the ground floor reserved for leisure courtyards or aisles to improve ventilation and lighting.
  2. Optimized Lighting and Insulation: Large floor-to-ceiling windows, roof skylights, and glass partitions are installed to make the interior bright and transparent. The walls and roof are equipped with internal insulation layers, and triple-glazed windows are selected to achieve warmth in winter and coolness in summer, with better heat insulation than red brick walls. Roof eaves or terrace sunshades are set up to prevent sun exposure in summer.
  3. Facade Beautification: The exterior facade can be treated with paint spraying, themed spray painting, cladding, or glass curtain walls to break away from the industrial feel and shape a villa-like atmosphere.

II. Construction Points

  1. Foundation Treatment: Containers are elevated on pile foundations to prevent moisture and insects and facilitate site leveling.
  2. Approval Procedures: If constructing on rural homestead land, building approval must be obtained according to local requirements, and structural drawings stamped by an engineer must be provided. Construction is strictly prohibited on cultivated land and basic farmland, and forestry approval is required for forest land. Leased land is mostly for temporary structures, and the nature of use must be clearly stated in the contract.

III. Post-construction Maintenance

  1. Rust and Corrosion Prevention: All cutting and welding incisions during the construction phase must be polished and coated with epoxy primer and topcoat. Inspect welds, corners, bottoms, and eaves annually, and immediately polish and repaint any small rust spots. Re-corrosion prevention and coating are required every 8-12 years in inland dry areas, every 7-10 years in southern humid areas, and every 3-5 years in coastal areas. The container body should not be directly placed on the ground; the foundation should be elevated to prevent the bottom from being soaked in moisture.
  2. Waterproof Sealing: The sealant around doors and windows, container body joints, and roof gutters should be replaced every 5-7 years. Clean roof leaves annually.
