Self-made Welded Movable Toilet
Constructing a self-made welded movable toilet involves multiple steps, including design, material selection, frame fabrication, installation, and cost control.

1. Design and Planning Clarify the toilet's purpose (e.g., outdoor events, temporary construction sites), usage environment (climate, terrain), and expected lifespan. Key design elements include:
- Stability: The frame must withstand transportation vibrations and external forces during use. A triangular structure is recommended to enhance stability.
- Spatial Layout: The interior ceiling height should be ≥2.2 meters, and the distance between the toilet and the door should be ≥0.8 meters to ensure comfort.
- Waste Disposal: Options include direct drainage (requires connection to a sewer), storage tank (regular cleaning required), or biodegradable systems (suitable for long-term use).
2. Material Selection and Welding Process
- Main Frame: Prioritize steel or aluminum alloy materials. Steel frames (e.g., angle steel, channel steel) are cost-effective and strong but require rust prevention. Aluminum alloy frames are lightweight and corrosion-resistant, suitable for humid environments.
- Welding Requirements: Weld points should be full and free of pores. Critical joints (e.g., connections between columns and bases) should use full-penetration welding. After welding, grind the welds and apply anti-rust paint (e.g., epoxy zinc-rich primer + polyurethane topcoat).
- Bottom Structure: Use channel steel or I-beams to weld the base for increased load-bearing capacity. Square steel (e.g., 40×40mm) is recommended for columns, with spacing controlled between 0.6-1 meter.
3. Main Frame Fabrication After cutting materials according to the design drawings, assemble the base frame first, then weld the columns and crossbeams. After frame completion, perform level calibration with an error ≤5mm. If mobility is required, install universal wheels (with brake devices) on the base.
4. Wall Panel and Roof Installation
- Wall Panels: Color-coated steel sheets (thickness 0.4-0.6mm) offer good cost-effectiveness, while aluminum composite panels provide superior waterproofing. Reserve maintenance openings during installation and fill panel joints with sealant.
- Roof: Adopt a pitched roof design (slope ≥15°) for better drainage. In cold regions, add a 50mm thick polystyrene insulation layer. Roof materials can be color-coated steel sheets or polycarbonate sheets (good light transmission).
5. Internal Facility Configuration
- Sanitary Ware: Recommend ceramic squat toilets (wear-resistant) or stainless steel urinals. Water tank capacity should be determined based on the number of users (e.g., ≥50L for 5 people).
- Ventilation and Lighting: Install an exhaust fan (air volume ≥200m³/h) on the top and louvered vents on the side walls. Use LED lights (power 5-10W) for lighting, equipped with waterproof switches.
6. Cost Control Reference
- Frame Materials: Angle steel base (200-500 yuan) + square steel columns (300-600 yuan).
- Wall Panels and Roof: Light steel color-coated sheets (2-3㎡, 600-1200 yuan).
- Internal Facilities: Toilet + water tank + ventilation devices (1000-1500 yuan).
- Total Cost: The basic configuration costs approximately 1500-3000 yuan, with fluctuations depending on material thickness, rust prevention processes, and transportation costs.
