Dimensions of Self-Made Mobile Toilets

Quản trị 21 tháng 9, 2026

The dimensions of self-made mobile toilets should be comprehensively designed based on usage scenarios, ergonomics, and mobility convenience. Common dimension ranges are as follows:

1. Basic Single-Compartment Mobile Toilets

Suitable for ordinary public areas (such as construction sites and temporary event venues), primarily designed with a compact structure to meet basic toilet needs.

  • External dimensions: Length 1m - 1.2m, width 1m - 1.5m, height 2.2m - 2.5m.
  • Internal clear dimensions: Length 0.9m - 1.1m, width 0.9m - 1.3m.
This design should ensure that the internal space can accommodate an adult to squat or stand normally after the door is opened, while also leaving room for turning around. For example, a common specification for a single-person unit is 1.2m (width) × 1.2m (length) × 2.2m (height), balancing practicality and mobility.

2. Barrier-Free Mobile Toilets

Specially designed for people with mobility impairments, meeting the needs for wheelchair rotation and the use of assistive devices.

  • Internal width: Should be at least 1.5m, with a length of about 1.5m.
Such toilets should reserve space for wheelchair passage (usually with a door width of no less than 0.9m) and be equipped with handrails, low-level sinks, and other facilities inside to ensure barrier-free access. For example, the internal clear dimensions can be designed as 1.5m (width) × 1.5m (length), with a height maintained at 2.2m - 2.5m to accommodate people of different heights.

3. Multi-Functional Combined Mobile Toilets

Suitable for high-comfort scenarios (such as outdoor weddings and high-end exhibitions), integrating additional functions such as sinks, vanity mirrors, and storage cabinets.

  • External dimensions: The width may exceed 2m, with the length and height expanding according to functional modules.
Such toilets should be divided into independent functional areas. For example, the front part can be a hand-washing area (with a width of about 0.8m), and the rear part can be a toilet area (with a width of 1.2m - 1.5m). The overall length can reach more than 2m. The height is usually maintained at 2.5m to enhance the sense of spaciousness, while ventilation and lighting design should also be considered.

Design Considerations

  • Ergonomics: The internal clear height should be ≥ 2m to avoid a sense of oppression; the front edge of the toilet seat or squat pan should be ≥ 0.4m from the side wall to ensure comfort during use.
  • Mobility convenience: The external dimensions should be compatible with transportation vehicles (such as truck beds). It is recommended that the weight of a single unit be controlled within 300 kg for easy manual handling or forklift loading and unloading.
  • Scenario adaptation: Standard single-compartment units should be prioritized in high-traffic areas for rapid deployment; barrier-free scenarios should strictly follow relevant regulations (such as the Code for Barrier-Free Design GB 50763-2012).

Reasonable dimension planning can balance functionality and cost-effectiveness. It is recommended to select or adjust the above parameters according to actual needs.
