Second-hand Container Mobile House

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

A second-hand container mobile house is a small dwelling or office space transformed from a shipping container or a container-like steel frame. It features the ability to be hoisted as a whole and rapid construction, with prices varying significantly based on specifications, usage, and condition. When purchasing, attention should be paid to the thickness of the steel and insulation performance.

Price Range and Influencing Factors

The price of a second-hand container mobile house is influenced by multiple factors, with specifications being a core variable. For example, the price range for a mobile house transformed from a standard 20GP (6-meter-long) second-hand container is between 3,000 and 9,000 yuan. Among them, exportable 20GP containers with certificates command higher prices (e.g., 9,000 yuan), while similar products available as spot goods may be as low as 3,000 yuan. The price for a transformed mobile house from a 40GP (12-meter-long) or 40HQ (high-cube) container is generally around 15,500 yuan, with costs significantly increasing due to larger space and more complex structures. Usage also directly affects the price. For instance, a second-hand refrigerated container, which has insulation capabilities, costs about 3,800 yuan when transformed into an insulated mobile house. Although this is lower than that of a standard container, it is still higher than some ordinary cargo containers due to its functional uniqueness. Additionally, the condition is a key factor. Containers that are brand new or nearly new command higher prices after transformation, while those with longer service lives, surface rust, or minor structural deformations may see a significant price drop.

Core Advantages and Construction Features

Compared to traditional buildings, second-hand container mobile houses boast extremely rapid construction. While traditional houses require a six-month construction period, container mobile houses can be assembled and ready for occupancy in just three days, greatly shortening the construction cycle. Their mobility is another significant advantage, as they can be hoisted as a whole without disassembly, making them suitable for temporary housing on construction sites, emergency shelters, and other scenarios. Furthermore, the modular design of containers supports flexible combinations, allowing for space expansion through stacking or joining to meet diverse needs.

Purchase Considerations

When selecting, focus on the thickness of the steel and the quality of the insulation layer. Some simple panel houses may suffer from air leakage in winter and stuffiness in summer due to overly thin steel, affecting living comfort. The commonly used specifications on construction sites are 6 meters long and 3 meters wide, with a recommended ceiling height of over 2.8 meters to avoid a cramped feeling. Additionally, it is essential to check the original structural integrity of the container to avoid a reduction in load-bearing capacity due to modifications, ensuring safety in use.
