Rural Prefabricated House Construction

Quản trị 18 tháng 9, 2026

There are various forms of rural prefabricated house construction, and construction must adhere to relevant regulations.

Construction Forms

  • Prefabricated Component Assembly Style: Represented by rural cases in South Korea, this method uses prefabricated components for assembly, completing the main structure in 14 days. The 5-ton foundation piles are fixed with base plates, and the beams are quickly connected using mortise-and-tenon joints. Stairs are installed like building blocks, and after laying a 5-centimeter-thick floor slab, the gaps between components are grouted. This method offers high construction efficiency and a unique structural connection approach.
  • Rapid Construction Style: For example, the fully reinforced concrete prefabricated houses in Kaifeng, Henan, can be built in as little as 4 hours and come with a 70-year warranty. This type of housing construction is extremely fast, meeting the demand for quick occupancy.
  • Modular Production Style: Many factories in the Pearl River Delta region of China dismantle reinforced concrete houses into individual modules, which are then produced through assembly-line operations and packaged for shipment abroad. Upon arrival, they are assembled like building blocks, with simple treatment of the connection areas before occupancy. Even water pipes and electrical wires are pre-installed, and the houses come complete with bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens. This approach enables industrialized housing production, improving production efficiency and housing standardization.

Construction Regulations

  • Adherence Principles: The "Technical Guidelines for the Construction of Prefabricated Rural Houses in Shandong Province" issued by Shandong specifies that the construction of prefabricated rural houses should adhere to the principles of modern functionality, structural safety, cost-effectiveness, environmental friendliness, and harmonious aesthetics. It should also consider local climate and topography, traditional cultural customs, and architectural characteristics to meet the functional requirements of modern rural residents for buildings.
  • Structural Systems: The guidelines clarify various structural systems, including prefabricated concrete shear wall systems, EPS module cast-in-place concrete systems, and lightweight steel frame systems, providing detailed design and construction specifications for each.
  • Material Requirements: Materials should be selected based on local conditions and available resources, favoring green and economical building materials or recyclable construction materials. Priority should be given to using local building materials while ensuring quality, and the use of high-energy-consuming and excessively polluting materials is prohibited.
  • Design Requirements: The design should respect the housing needs of farmers, with architectural styles reflecting regional characteristics and appropriate consideration given to aging-friendly design.
  • Construction Requirements: Prefabricated rural houses should be constructed by professional construction teams or trained rural individual builders with housing construction capabilities. A construction organization plan and construction scheme should be formulated.
