Rural Prefabricated Assembled Houses

Quản trị 18 tháng 9, 2026

Rural prefabricated assembled houses are a rural housing construction model that uses factory-prefabricated components assembled on-site, featuring short construction periods, good earthquake resistance, and energy efficiency and environmental protection.

Construction Model and Efficiency
The core components of rural prefabricated assembled houses, such as walls and floor slabs, are standardized and prefabricated in factories and then assembled on-site through modular methods. Taking Zhejiang Province as an example, the main structure of a fully prefabricated rural house can be built in about 7 days. For instance, the first model house in Yuyao City and the panel structure project in Jiangbei District, Ningbo, both achieved rapid installation. This industrial production model significantly shortens the construction period and greatly improves efficiency compared to traditional brick-and-mortar structures.

Structural Types and Performance
In Zhejiang, two main structural types are used: light steel structures and concrete shear wall structures. The nodes are connected with mechanical bolts, and the earthquake resistance can reach a seismic intensity of 7 degrees, meeting the earthquake resistance needs of rural areas. The walls are made of 25-centimeter-thick reinforced concrete with lightweight insulation panels, integrating thermal insulation and sound insulation properties. The waterproofing technology follows the mature solution used in the shield segments of Ningbo's rail transit, achieving multiple protections through ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) leak-proof seals and double-layer coatings, effectively solving leakage problems.

Environmental Protection and Intelligence
The main structural materials of fully prefabricated rural houses, especially light steel structures, have high recyclability, reducing construction waste, dust, and noise pollution during the construction process. Some projects are equipped with rooftop photovoltaic systems and whole-house smart systems, improving energy efficiency and living comfort. Compared to traditional brick-and-mortar structures, the usable floor area may be about 10% higher, but the cost of the main structure is slightly higher.

Policy Support and Promotion
Governments in various regions are actively promoting the development of prefabricated rural houses: In Yuhuang Community, Fucheng District, Mianyang, Sichuan Province, 29 households have adopted light steel structures. In 2024, Hebei Province launched a pilot application system through the "Yunongtong" APP, and Changsha City initiated a pilot project for rural dilapidated house renovations. As a national pilot province for steel structure prefabricated residential buildings, Zhejiang Province has introduced policies such as financial subsidies and housing construction loans, and is advancing the development of provincial technical guidelines and the "Rural Housing Zhejiang Construction" full life-cycle management system to provide guarantees for large-scale applications.
