Remote Mountain Container Renovated House

Quản trị 15 tháng 9, 2026

It is feasible to renovate container houses in remote mountains, and they have advantages such as lower costs and faster construction, but issues like approval, insulation, and waterproofing also need to be addressed. Details are as follows:

I. Cost Aspect

Second-hand containers are relatively inexpensive, with two together possibly costing just over ten thousand yuan. However, container houses also require insulation, waterproofing, and interior decoration like conventional homes, including installing doors and windows, internal wooden framing (including partition walls and insulation layers), lights, and real fireplaces. The overall renovation cost varies depending on the area and decoration standards. For example, a couple transformed a cramped 15㎡ space into a home with a total renovation cost of less than 110,000 yuan; in another case, renovating a container house cost less than 50,000 Australian dollars.

II. Construction Process

First, you need a piece of land approved by relevant authorities; construction cannot be done arbitrarily. Then, renovate based on the container, including cutting openings for doors and windows in the container body, combining two or more containers to increase space, installing internal wooden framing and insulation layers, installing doors, windows, and lights, and installing real fireplaces, followed by interior decoration.

III. Function Realization

  • Energy Supply: You can rely on solar power by installing a solar photovoltaic power generation system on the roof to solve electricity problems.
  • Water Supply: Supply water through wells or install rainwater collection systems, which are then treated by purification equipment for use.
  • Living Function: Rationally plan the interior space to include functional areas such as bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms to meet daily living needs. Some container houses can even be designed with a double-height living room, paired with skylights for a spacious and bright feel; they can also be equipped with bathtubs and modern kitchen appliances.

IV. Living Comfort

With the development of prefabricated buildings, technical issues such as insulation, space, and plumbing in container houses have been resolved. Using rust-proof steel shells and internal soundproof insulation layers, they can achieve warmth in winter and coolness in summer; using triple-glazed windows with thermal break frames, their insulation effect is even better than that of traditional red brick walls.
