Design Dimensions of Prefabricated Slab Houses

Quản trị 19 tháng 9, 2026

The design dimensions of prefabricated slab houses mainly include four aspects: span, width, thickness, and length, as detailed below:

Span: The span of a prefabricated slab refers to the maximum support distance in the horizontal direction, i.e., the length from one support point to another. In residential construction, the longest span of prefabricated slabs is typically 4.2 meters. This dimension does not follow modular rules, meaning it is a standard size set according to actual needs. If a span exceeding 4.2 meters is required, custom production is necessary to meet specific construction demands.

Width: The width of a prefabricated slab refers to its dimension perpendicular to the span direction. Common widths for prefabricated slabs are 500mm and 600mm, both of which are widely used in residential construction. Additionally, the width of prefabricated slabs can vary depending on the number of holes. For example, four-hole slabs typically have a width of 400mm, while five-hole slabs have a width of 500mm. These different width dimensions enable prefabricated slabs to adapt to various wall or floor design requirements.

Thickness: The thickness of a prefabricated slab refers to its dimension perpendicular to the slab surface, directly affecting its load-bearing capacity and sound insulation performance. Common thicknesses for prefabricated slabs are 120mm and 150mm, both of which are prevalent in residential construction. Although 100mm-thick prefabricated slabs are less commonly used, they can be custom-produced according to specific needs. Thicker prefabricated slabs generally offer better load-bearing capacity and sound insulation but also increase construction costs and self-weight.

Length: The length of a prefabricated slab refers to its dimension along the span direction. It is typically produced in modules of 300mm, such as 3000mm, 3300mm, 3600mm, 3900mm, and 4200mm. These standard lengths can meet the needs of most residential construction projects and facilitate construction and installation. However, there are also prefabricated slabs with special lengths, such as 3800mm and 4000mm, which are usually custom-produced according to the requirements of specific construction projects. The longest length of ordinary prefabricated slabs is typically 4200mm, and lengths exceeding this require special design and production.
