Prefabricated Permanent Housing

Quản trị 17 tháng 9, 2026

Prefabricated permanent housing is a building form that involves industrial production of building components and on-site assembly, also known as prefabricated assembled buildings or modular buildings. Its core feature is to break down the building into independent modules, complete more than 95% of the processes such as ceilings, floors, and water and electricity pipelines in the factory, and then transport them to the site for rapid assembly.

The main advantages are reflected in the following aspects:

  1. Significantly shortened construction period: The construction cycle is reduced by more than 60% compared to traditional buildings. For example, the Shenzhen affordable housing project compressed the completion and delivery time from 2.5-3 years to 1 year through the assembly of 6,028 concrete modules; the UAE once completed the assembly of a 16-story residential building in 96 hours. This efficiency improvement is due to the parallel operation mode of factory prefabrication and on-site assembly, which greatly reduces delays caused by weather and process衔接 in traditional construction.
  2. Highly controllable quality: The factory adopts automated production lines and millimeter-level precision control. Each module comes with an 'ID card' to record production information, enabling full-process quality traceability. This standardized production mode avoids errors caused by differences in workers' skills in on-site construction, ensuring the safety and functional stability of the building structure.
  3. Outstanding environmental protection and energy-saving effects: On-site operations reduce dust, noise, and construction waste, in line with the development trend of green buildings. For example, the Fujian industrial base has achieved a reduction of more than 70% in construction waste through policy support, while modular design can optimize material utilization and reduce resource consumption.
  4. Obvious cost advantages: Overseas cases show that the price of Chinese prefabricated houses is only one-third to one-half of that of locally self-built houses, and there is no need to wait for a long time for worker scheduling. The large-scale production in factories reduces unit costs, while the rapid delivery feature shortens the capital return cycle and improves the project's economic benefits.

Technical system and application scenarios:
The technology covers prefabricated concrete structures and steel structures, with component types including prefabricated products such as beams, slabs, walls, and columns. Application scenarios have expanded from early industrial plants and residential buildings to high-rise buildings and overseas exports. In the first four months of 2026, the export value of movable houses in the Guangzhou Customs area reached 1.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 38.1%, indicating strong global market demand. Market research institutions predict that the global modular building market size will exceed 142.8 billion US dollars by 2030, reflecting the broad development prospects of the industry.
