Structure of Prefabricated Panel Roof

Quản trị 19 tháng 9, 2026

The structure of a prefabricated panel roof centers around prefabricated panels, forming a covering structure through specific materials and installation methods, but it has defects such as poor integrity and weak disaster resistance. The specific structural features are as follows:

Materials and Manufacturing Process

The main materials of prefabricated panels include crushed stone, cement, sand, and coiled rods (small-diameter steel bars). During manufacturing, the coiled rods are first arranged in the mold according to design requirements to form a steel bar framework that enhances structural strength. Then, the crushed stone, cement, and sand, mixed in proportion, are poured into the mold. Through processes such as vibration and compaction, the mixture is formed into standard-sized prefabricated panels. This prefabrication method enables industrial production and improves construction efficiency. However, due to process limitations, the distribution of steel bars inside the panel and the compactness of the concrete may result in uneven local strength.

Roof Installation Method

The installation of prefabricated panels on the roof adopts the method of "direct placement + local connection". The specific steps are as follows: The prefabricated panels are placed horizontally on the brick walls of the roof. There is no rigid connection between the panels and the walls, and stability is maintained only through their own weight and friction. The panels are spliced together by pouring concrete or applying cement mortar between them to form a continuous roof covering layer. The essence of this structure is "decentralized covering" rather than an integrated structure, causing each part of the roof to bear loads independently and lacking coordinated deformation capacity.

Structural Defects and Risks

  1. Poor integrity: Since the prefabricated panels are non-integrally connected to the walls and to each other, the connection points are prone to breakage during geological disasters (such as earthquakes) or under external impacts, leading to panel displacement or even collapse.
  2. Weak resistance to settlement: Uneven settlement of the foundation will be directly reflected on the roof. As the prefabricated panels are independent units, settlement differences may cause cracks at the panel connections, leading to water leakage.
  3. Limited durability: Exposed to the natural environment for a long time, the concrete may carbonize and the steel bars may rust, further weakening the connection strength and creating safety hazards.

Improvement Suggestions

To address the defects of the prefabricated panel roof, the overall integrity can be enhanced by adding structural columns and ring beams, or the connections between panels can be strengthened by welding steel bars or grouting. During daily use, regular inspections for cracks and leaks should be carried out, and timely repairs should be made to extend the service life.
