Treadmill in Prefabricated Panel Houses

Quản trị 19 tháng 9, 2026

Using a treadmill in a prefabricated panel house can have a significant impact on the downstairs residents, but effective vibration and noise reduction can be achieved through reasonable measures. The sound insulation effect of prefabricated panel buildings is 2-3 times worse than that of cast-in-place concrete. The motor running noise (about 60-70 decibels) and foot impact noise (up to more than 80 decibels) generated during the operation of the treadmill will be transmitted through the floor slab. Among them, the foot impact noise has a more significant impact on the downstairs residents due to its low-frequency vibration characteristics. Here are specific solutions:

1. Lay professional vibration-damping pads
Choose rubber vibration-damping pads with a thickness of ≥8mm, which can reduce noise by 15-20 decibels; or use a combination pad of 6cm rubber + 3cm EVA to absorb vibration energy through multiple layers of materials. Ensure that the pad covers the entire support area of the treadmill to avoid vibration reduction failure due to local suspension.

2. Purchase treadmills with strong vibration-damping performance
Give priority to mid-to-high-end models with multi-level cushioning systems (such as airbag and spring combinations) or flagship models equipped with magnetic levitation vibration-damping technology (such as the Yijian T900). Its space fiber vibration-damping layer can absorb 92% of the vertical impact force, keeping the noise downstairs below 45 decibels. Avoid basic models, as their simple vibration-damping structures have limited noise reduction effects.

3. Standardize usage time and methods

  • Time control: Use the treadmill during non-rest periods such as 9:00-12:00 or 14:00-19:00, with a single session not exceeding 40 minutes; avoid using it at night (after 22:00) as the quiet environment will amplify the perception of noise.
  • Running adjustments: Reduce speed and stride length to decrease foot impact force; regularly check the tightness of the running belt to avoid increasing the motor load and noise due to excessive tightness.

4. Optimize equipment placement
Keep the treadmill at least 50cm away from the wall to avoid vibration transmission through the wall; choose a position below a non-load-bearing wall and avoid placing it above sensitive areas such as the downstairs bedroom and study. If the house structure allows, place the treadmill in an area close to the center of the house to reduce the impact on edge residents.

5. Suggestions for dispute resolution
If noise causes neighbor disputes, first try to resolve the issue by negotiating adjustments to the usage time or strengthening vibration-damping measures; if negotiation fails, apply for community mediation or file a complaint with the environmental protection department, and clarify responsibilities through professional noise testing (such as decibel meter measurements).
