What is the Structure of a Prefabricated Panel House

Quản trị 18 tháng 9, 2026

A prefabricated panel house is a building constructed primarily using prefabricated panels, with its structure mainly formed by assembling and connecting prefabricated concrete panels on-site.

Types of Prefabricated Panel Components

Prefabricated panels are cement components manufactured in factories. During production, a wooden model is first nailed together, followed by the placement of steel reinforcement and the pouring of cement to form the panel. Depending on their internal structure, prefabricated panels are classified into two types: solid and hollow. Solid panels have a uniform concrete structure inside, offering high overall strength and are suitable for areas with high load-bearing requirements. Hollow panels, on the other hand, reduce the amount of non-load-bearing concrete, achieving lightweight construction while maintaining a certain level of strength. This effectively reduces the self-weight of the building and the amount of materials used, making them commonly used for floor slabs and other components.

Overall Structural Composition

Prefabricated panel buildings primarily use prefabricated concrete panels as floor slabs and for some wall components. Floor slabs typically use either solid or hollow panels, selected based on architectural design and load requirements. Some walls also incorporate prefabricated panels, which are manufactured in factories and then transported to the construction site. During on-site construction, the prefabricated panels are assembled according to design specifications and connected using specific methods, such as overlapping reserved steel reinforcement or welding. Subsequently, cast-in-place concrete is used to connect all the prefabricated panels into a unified structural system. The cast-in-place concrete not only serves as a connection but also enhances the overall integrity and stability of the structure, enabling better coordinated performance under load.

Structural Characteristics and Advantages

This structural form offers the advantages of fast construction speed and high efficiency. Since prefabricated panels are mass-produced in factories, quality control is better ensured, reducing the complexity and uncertainty of on-site construction. Additionally, factory production allows for optimal resource allocation, improving material utilization and reducing construction costs. Moreover, the overall integrity of prefabricated panel houses is good, and the connection through cast-in-place concrete ensures the safety and stability of the building under normal use conditions.
