Interior Walls of Prefabricated Panel Houses

Quản trị 19 tháng 9, 2026

There are mainly two types of interior walls in prefabricated panel houses: cement prefabricated panel walls and prefabricated concrete wall panels, and there are some common issues associated with them.

Cement Prefabricated Panel Walls

These were commonly used in brick-concrete structural buildings in the early days. The walls are divided into solid and hollow types. Hollow prefabricated panels can reduce weight and cost, and have the characteristics of simple construction and low cost. However, they have many drawbacks. Poor thermal insulation performance: In cold or hot seasons, indoor heat is easily lost or external heat easily enters, affecting living comfort. Insufficient structural stability: Their load-bearing capacity is weak, making it difficult to withstand large external forces. Cracking and water leakage at panel joints: Over time, cracks are prone to appear at the joints, allowing rainwater to seep into the interior and damage indoor decorations and items. Due to these serious problems, cement prefabricated panel walls have now been banned in the construction field.

Prefabricated Concrete Wall Panels

They are divided into two major categories based on their functional use: interior wall panels and exterior wall panels. Interior wall panels further include transverse wall panels, longitudinal wall panels, and partition wall panels. Among them, transverse and longitudinal wall panels are load-bearing wall panels, while partition wall panels are non-load-bearing and need to have sound insulation and fire resistance functions. Prefabricated concrete wall panels have numerous advantages. Fast construction: They can significantly shorten the construction period. Durable: They can maintain good performance for a long time. Fire-resistant: They can effectively prevent the spread of fire, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property. Soundproof: They can reduce interference from external noise, providing a quiet indoor environment. Waterproof: They prevent rainwater penetration. Impact-resistant: They can withstand a certain amount of external force impact without damage. Lightweight: They reduce the overall weight of the building. Environmentally friendly: They reduce environmental pollution. Thermally insulating: They improve indoor energy efficiency. Therefore, they are widely used in the interior walls of commercial and civil buildings such as residences, offices, factories, and hotels.

Issues with Interior Walls of Prefabricated Panel Houses

The interior structure of prefabricated panel houses lacks firmness and toughness, being assembled from individual prefabricated panels, which presents inherent deficiencies. Over time, wall cracks will appear: This not only affects the appearance of the house but may also reduce the structural safety of the walls. Ceiling water leakage is also a common problem, which may damage indoor decorations and even affect the normal operation of electrical equipment. Many older prefabricated panel houses have poor interior wall conditions and have even been identified as "dangerous buildings", requiring timely repair or renovation.
