Elevation of Prefabricated Panel Flat Roof

Quản trị 18 tháng 9, 2026

The elevation of a prefabricated panel flat roof can be achieved by adding structural layers to increase the ridge height. Common solutions and considerations are as follows:

I. Common Renovation Solutions

  1. Overall Elevation with Light Steel Roof Trusses

    • Construction Method: Fix embedded plates on the original roof panel using chemical anchors, and connect light steel joists through welding or bolts to form triangular or gable roof trusses, which are then covered with profiled steel sheets or asphalt shingles.
    • Advantages: Lightweight (approximately 15 to 25 kilograms per square meter), imposing minimal additional load on the original structure; fast construction speed, no wet work required, suitable for directly constructing pitched roofs on flat roofs.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Houses with limited structural bearing capacity or requiring rapid renovation.
  2. Elevation with Cast-in-Place Concrete Beams and Columns

    • Construction Method: Plant steel bars into the original walls or ring beams, pour new structural columns and beams, and then pour the pitched roof after setting up formwork.
    • Advantages: Good overall rigidity, strong sound insulation and thermal insulation performance, and a relatively long service life.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Houses requiring long-term use and high structural stability.
  3. Roof Ridge Renovation

    • Local Renovation Methods:
      • Red Brick Masonry: Set up purlins and then lay red tiles, offering good thermal insulation but with a lifespan dependent on construction quality.
      • Light Steel Structure: Reduces load weight and offers an aesthetically pleasing and practical appearance.
      • Wooden Structure: Use timber for beams, lay fir panels, waterproof materials, insulation boards, wire mesh fine aggregate concrete protective layers, and asphalt decorative shingles.
    • Applicable Scenarios: Houses requiring only local ridge elevation or with specific material requirements.

II. Key Considerations

  1. Structural Inspection: Before construction, confirm the original house's structural form (e.g., brick-concrete, frame, or brick-wood structure), check whether the roof panel has ribs, the beam section size, the presence of ring beams at the wall top, settlement joints in the foundation, and cracks in the exterior walls. If the original building shows significant settlement or cracks, repair the foundation and walls first.
  2. Safety and Regulations: Ensure construction safety, use qualified materials, and comply with building codes. After renovation, ensure overall integrity, stability, and practical effects (e.g., lighting, ventilation, drainage).
  3. Professional Consultation: It is recommended to consult a professional architect or engineer before elevation to avoid safety hazards caused by design flaws.

Renovation should comprehensively consider structural safety, material performance, and actual needs, selecting an appropriate solution and strictly adhering to construction codes.
