Success Cases of Prefabricated Housing

Quản trị 18 tháng 9, 2026

Success cases of prefabricated housing include the HKU Jockey Club Student Village IV, a public housing project in Shenzhen, Guangdong, and projects related to the intelligent construction - MiC technology of China State Construction HaiLong.

HKU Jockey Club Student Village IV: This is the first high-rise student dormitory in Hong Kong constructed using the MiC (Modular Integrated Construction) method, located at 4 Police School Road, Wong Chuk Hang, Southern District, Hong Kong Island. After students moved in on August 30, 2023, they encountered Typhoon Saola, a Category 10 typhoon, just two days later. However, the new dormitory building suffered no damage and had not a single leak, demonstrating its strong wind resistance. After being put into use, a survey of students showed that more than half of them did not notice any difference between the MiC dormitory and traditional dormitories. Over 70% of the students felt comfortable or very comfortable living there, and more than 50% felt that the temperature near the walls or windows was appropriate, with no wind infiltration when the doors and windows were closed. This indicates that MiC buildings have good thermal insulation and airtightness performance. Currently, the second HKU project using MiC technology, the "West High Hill Student and Staff Dormitory", is also nearing completion.

A public housing project in Shenzhen, Guangdong: This project consists of five residential buildings nearly 100 meters high, assembled from 6,028 concrete modules, and has more than 2,000 households living there. Compared with traditional construction methods, it has significant advantages. The completion and delivery time has been shortened from 2.5 to 3 years to 1 year, and the on-site labor force has been reduced by about 50%. Moreover, most of the construction processes are completed in the factory, with on-site cast-in-place connections, greatly reducing noise, dust, construction waste, and traffic congestion at the construction site, which are nuisance factors for residents.

Projects related to the intelligent construction - MiC technology of China State Construction HaiLong: As of June 2026, the intelligent construction - MiC technology independently developed by China State Construction HaiLong has been implemented in 137 projects across 15 provinces and 24 cities nationwide, with a total construction area of 6.12 million square meters. It covers a variety of scenarios, including public housing, urban renewal, campuses, hospitals, and hotels, fully demonstrating the wide applicability and adaptability of this technology.
