Prefabricated Housing Component Production Process
The production process of prefabricated housing components is a systematic and standardized modern construction method, with the core focus on transferring on-site wet operations to a factory environment to achieve efficient and precise production through seven key steps. The specific process is as follows:

1. Design Planning and Detailed Design
Based on architectural structural drawings, the overall structure is divided into individual prefabricated components (such as wall panels, floor slabs, stairs, etc.), with clear specifications for the size, shape, position of embedded parts, and connection methods of each component. BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology is used for three-dimensional collaborative design, resolving potential conflicts between pipelines and structures in advance through virtual collision detection and generating digital processing drawings. The design must strictly adhere to the "Code for Design of Concrete Structures" and the "Technical Specification for Prefabricated Concrete Structures" to ensure the mechanical properties and construction feasibility of the components.
2. Mold Preparation and Assembly
Molds are the core tools for ensuring component precision, commonly made of steel or aluminum alloy. Key processes include:
- Cleaning the mold surface and applying a release agent to prevent concrete adhesion;
- Precisely assembling the mold using total stations, laser alignment devices, and other equipment to ensure dimensional tolerances (e.g., length deviation ≤ ±2mm);
- Securing embedded parts (such as steel truss bars, sleeves, electrical boxes, etc.) and preventing displacement during pouring through positioning pins or magnetic devices.
3. Concrete Preparation and Pouring
- Designing a specialized mix ratio based on the component's strength grade, controlling the water-cement ratio (0.4-0.5), and incorporating water reducers, early strength agents, and other additives to optimize performance;
- Using automated batching machines to uniformly fill the concrete, pouring in layers and vibrating densely in areas with dense reinforcement (such as beam-column joints);
- Immediately performing surface treatment after pouring: smoothing and polishing ordinary components, and using roughening or water-washing exposed aggregate processes for components requiring a rough surface.
4. Curing
Factory production primarily uses steam curing, controlled in four stages:
- Static Period: Holding at room temperature for 2-4 hours to allow initial concrete hardening;
- Heating Period: Raising the temperature at a rate of 15-20°C per hour to 55-65°C, avoiding sudden temperature changes that could cause cracking;
- Constant Temperature Period: Maintaining for 4-8 hours to promote cement hydration reactions;
- Cooling Period: Gradually cooling to a temperature difference of less than 20°C with the environment to prevent component damage from shrinkage stress.
5. Demolding and Treatment
After curing, the mold is removed, and surface defects (such as honeycombing, pitting) on the components are repaired. The appearance quality is enhanced through grinding, sandblasting, and other processes. Some components require waterproof coatings or fireproof treatments.
6. Quality Inspection
Using three-dimensional laser scanning, ultrasonic testing, and other technologies, full inspections are conducted on component dimensional accuracy, concrete strength, and the position of embedded parts to ensure compliance with design requirements. Non-conforming products must be reworked or scrapped.
7. Storage and Transportation
Qualified components are classified and stored by type, with wooden blocks placed underneath to prevent deformation and covered with protective film for moisture resistance. During transportation, specialized racks are used for fixation, with ropes or airbags for shock absorption to prevent collision damage. Modular building components may also integrate ceilings, walls, and utilities in the factory, improving on-site assembly efficiency by over 60%.
