What is the Appropriate Thickness for Prefabricated Houses?

Quản trị 18 tháng 9, 2026

The thickness of prefabricated house components should be determined based on the specific type and application scenario, with no unified standard. However, the thickness ranges for common types are as follows:

1. Ordinary Cement Prefabricated Floor Slabs
The thickness typically ranges from 60mm to 120mm, with the specific choice depending on the span parameters. For example, a floor slab with a 3-meter span is recommended to have a thickness of 80mm-100mm. These slabs are widely used in low-rise residential buildings, temporary structures, or self-built rural houses where load-bearing requirements are not high due to their low cost and convenient construction. If the span exceeds 3 meters, the structural stability should be enhanced by increasing the thickness or the reinforcement ratio to avoid deformation risks.

2. Steel-Frame Lightweight Prefabricated Panels
The thickness ranges from 80mm to 150mm, with the core advantage being the balance between lightweight and high strength achieved through the steel frame. These panels are commonly used in industrial plants, rail transit platforms, and other scenarios with high requirements for fire resistance and durability. For example, rail transit platforms need to meet Fire Rating A, and the steel frame structure can effectively delay the spread of fire. In industrial plants, panels with a thickness of 150mm can withstand the vibration of heavy equipment while reducing the building's self-weight.

3. Reinforced Truss Prefabricated Floor Slabs
The thickness ranges from 100mm to 300mm, enabling large-span designs through built-in truss structures. These slabs are suitable for commercial complexes, large warehouses, and other scenarios requiring high load-bearing capacity. For example, a commercial floor slab with a span of 6 meters should have a thickness of 200mm-300mm, with the truss spacing and reinforcement diameter determined based on load calculations to ensure structural safety.

4. Special-Purpose Panels for Specific Scenarios

  • Livestock Manure Drainage Panels: With a thickness of 50mm-80mm, these panels are made of high-strength concrete or composite materials, balancing load-bearing capacity and water permeability for easy cleaning of livestock manure.
  • Cable Well Cover Panels: With a thickness of 50mm, these panels need to meet compression and corrosion resistance requirements and are typically made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic or reinforced concrete.

5. Common Specifications for Residential Use
Prefabricated panels generally have a thickness of 120mm or 150mm, a length of 3000mm-4200mm, and a width of 500mm-600mm. If water pipes or electrical wires need to be embedded, a thickness of 150mm is recommended to reserve sufficient space and prevent floor slab cracking caused by pipe vibration. For example, in northern regions where underfloor heating pipes need to be laid, a thickness of 150mm can accommodate the insulation layer, pipes, and backfill layer simultaneously.

Design Basis: The design should comply with the Code for Design of Concrete Structures (GB 50010) and local standards, customized based on actual span, load, and usage environment parameters. For example, in humid southern regions, the panels should be provided with additional moisture-proof treatment, while in areas with high seismic intensity, the reinforcement ratio should be increased to enhance seismic performance.
