Prefabricated Cement Roof House
Prefabricated cement roof houses are structures built using precast cement panels. They were once popular in rural areas due to their low cost and simple construction, but they have safety hazards. Now, there are safer new types of prefabricated houses available.

Characteristics of Traditional Prefabricated Cement Houses
Traditional prefabricated cement roof houses use precast cement panels that are processed and manufactured in factories in advance and then directly assembled at the construction site. This method significantly shortens the construction period. Compared with cast-in-place panels, prefabricated panels require less steel reinforcement and have lower labor costs. In rural areas, prefabricated panels are commonly used for the roofs of the first floor, partitions between floors, or as floor slabs and roof slabs, serving as load-bearing panels.
Defects of Traditional Prefabricated Cement Houses
- High safety risks: Prefabricated panels are assembled piece by piece, and there are gaps at the edges of the panels. Even a minor earthquake can potentially cause the house to collapse. Moreover, the quality of precast cement panels on the market varies greatly, with a large proportion being of inferior quality and having an extremely short service life. They may cause house collapse accidents without people even realizing it, resulting in casualties.
- Poor sound insulation: On the one hand, the thickness of prefabricated panels is insufficient, allowing sound to penetrate easily. On the other hand, there are long circular holes in the middle of the prefabricated panels, and the structure itself is prone to sound transmission, resulting in poor sound insulation.
- Prone to water leakage: Prefabricated panels are assembled from independent panels, and there are tiny gaps between the panels. Rainwater can easily seep through these gaps into the interior of the prefabricated panels, corroding the steel reinforcement and potentially leading to collapse over time.
Advantages of New Prefabricated Houses
Currently, there is a new type of prefabricated reinforced concrete house (cement house) that adopts a factory prefabrication + on-site assembly model, offering advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, and environmental friendliness. This type of house uses C30 - C40 grade concrete with built-in steel reinforcement meshes, providing high compressive strength. The modules are connected through prestressed bolts + welded steel plates to form an overall framework, with a seismic fortification intensity of up to 7 degrees. In addition, there are prefabricated integrated cement houses that can have their main structures completed in as little as 4 hours, saving time and money while having superior safety performance, capable of withstanding typhoons of up to force 12.
