Portable Toilet Indoor Installation

Quản trị 05 tháng 10, 2026

The indoor installation of portable toilets requires adherence to scientific planning and standardized operational procedures. The specific steps and key points are as follows:

I. Planning and Preparation Before Installation

  1. Type and Specification Selection Determine the toilet type based on usage scenario requirements:
  • Dry Composting Toilet: Suitable for low-frequency usage scenarios. It requires regular addition of covering materials (such as wood shavings or coconut coir) to decompose excreta. No water flushing is needed, but space for compost treatment must be reserved.
  • Packing Toilet: Encapsulates excreta in biodegradable plastic bags, suitable for temporary or high-frequency usage scenarios. The garbage bags need to be replaced regularly.
  • Microbial Treatment Toilet: Utilizes microorganisms to decompose excreta and requires connection to a power supply to drive the treatment system. It is suitable for places with high hygiene requirements. Comprehensive consideration should be given to usage frequency, maintenance convenience, budget, and indoor space dimensions (e.g., the height must meet the ventilation requirements at the top of the equipment).
  1. Site Selection and Space Optimization
  • Ventilation Conditions: Prioritize locations near windows or where exhaust fans can be installed to ensure timely removal of odors. If natural ventilation is insufficient, reserve interfaces for exhaust ducts.
  • Concealment and Convenience: Avoid facing public areas directly while ensuring unobstructed maintenance access (e.g., door width ≥ 70 cm for easy equipment handling).
  • Floor Requirements: Check the floor's load-bearing capacity (especially for large equipment, which requires ≥ 300 kg/m²). Use a level to confirm flatness, with an error ≤ 5 mm to prevent equipment tilting.
  1. Preparation of Supporting Facilities
  • Power Configuration: Reserve sockets with a current rating above 10 A for microbial treatment toilets. The power of exhaust fans is recommended to be ≤ 50 W to reduce energy consumption.
  • Pipe Embedding: If connection to water supply and drainage is required (e.g., some packing toilets support flushing functions), plan the route of PVC pipes in advance.
  • Auxiliary Materials: Prepare sealant (for interface leakage prevention), anti-slip floor mats (to enhance usage safety), and disinfectants (for regular cleaning of equipment surfaces).

II. Installation Implementation Steps

  1. Unboxing and Inspection Check against the instruction manual list, focusing on:
  • Structural components (such as square steel columns and channel steel bases) are free from deformation or cracks.
  • Functional components (such as toilet seats and treatment chamber seals) are complete and not missing.
  • Supporting tools (such as screwdrivers and wrenches) are齐全 (complete).
  1. Main Body Assembly and Fixing
  • Frame Connection: Assemble the toilet base, treatment chamber, and upper structure in the order specified in the instruction manual. Use stainless steel bolts for fastening (the torque value must meet the standard, e.g., M8 bolts require ≥ 15 N·m).
  • Wall Installation: If it is a modular design, fix color steel plates or metal carved plates in sequence. Apply sealant at the joints to prevent leakage.
  • Leveling and Calibration: Place adjustable feet at the four corners of the equipment and adjust them to be completely level using a level to avoid treatment liquid leakage or door opening/closing difficulties due to tilting.

III. Safety and Maintenance Points

  • Fire Prevention Requirements: The internal wires of the equipment must be protected by metal conduits. The exhaust fan motor must have a moisture and dust resistance rating (such as IP44).
  • Regular Cleaning: Add covering materials to the dry composting toilet every 2-3 days. Replace the garbage bags in the packing toilet when they reach 80% of their capacity.
  • Structural Inspection: Check the welds of square steel columns and the rusting situation of channel steel bases monthly. Promptly repair welding or apply anti-corrosion treatment if damage is found.
