Mondeo - Mobile Toilet

Quản trị 20 tháng 9, 2026

The Mondeo is dubbed the 'mobile toilet' mainly due to the severe and long-standing issue of unpleasant odors inside the vehicle that have not been effectively resolved.

Prominent Odor Issues

The odor problem in the Mondeo has persisted for a long time. Many car owners have reported that after parking the vehicle for several hours under sunlight and high temperatures, a strong and unpleasant odor greets them when they open the car door. This odor is not only pungent but also causes symptoms such as dizziness and nausea. Moreover, as the temperature rises, the odor becomes even more intense. Some car owners have specifically tested the indoor air quality and found that the formaldehyde levels inside the vehicle are severely over the limit, posing a potential threat to human health.

Suspected Use of Substandard Materials

Many car owners suspect that the severe odor inside the vehicle is due to the manufacturer's use of unqualified materials. For example, a large amount of substandard materials such as asphalt and damping sheets have been used. Asphalt tends to emit harmful gases under high temperatures, and if the damping sheets are of poor quality, they will also release unpleasant and harmful odors. The use of these materials is likely the root cause of the odor problem inside the vehicle.

Official Measures Not Recognized

In response to the strong feedback from car owners, Changan Ford officially promised to take action to solve the problem, such as applying thermal insulation foam and upgrading the air conditioning system software. However, these measures have not been recognized by car owners. Many car owners believe that these measures are just superficial and too perfunctory, failing to address the root cause of the odor problem inside the vehicle. The odor still persists, and the dissatisfaction among car owners continues to accumulate. Eventually, the Mondeo was nicknamed the 'mobile toilet' by car owners due to the odor problem, reflecting their dissatisfaction and helplessness regarding this issue with the vehicle model.
