How to Install Mobile Toilets Underground

Quản trị 13 tháng 10, 2026

The underground installation of mobile toilets requires core technical solutions such as odor control, sewage treatment, and environmental adaptability design, combined with deployment considerations like space planning, maintenance cycles, and safety precautions, along with selecting the appropriate type for stable operation.

Core Technical Solutions

  1. Odor Control
An independent circulation filtration system is employed, consisting of an air inlet, activated carbon filter layer, exhaust fan, and air outlet. The exhaust fan forcibly draws in air from inside the toilet, where ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and other odor molecules are adsorbed by the activated carbon before the clean air is discharged into the underground space. The filtration efficiency remains above 90% even after 4 hours of continuous use, and the system is equipped with induction lighting to reduce energy consumption.

  2. Sewage Treatment
Due to the lower elevation of underground spaces compared to municipal sewage networks, a dual-mode approach of "vacuum suction + temporary storage" is adopted. The vacuum suction system uses negative pressure to draw sewage into a sealed storage tank (with a capacity of approximately 300 liters, sufficient for 150 flushes) during flushing. When the storage tank is nearly full, the system automatically sends a signal to the backend management terminal, and a professional sewage truck clears the waste through a reserved interface, avoiding the need for ground excavation for pipelines.

  3. Environmental Adaptability Design
The toilet body is mostly made of fiberglass or polyethylene materials, offering good sealing properties to withstand underground humid environments. In northern regions, models with insulation layers are required to prevent freezing by emptying the water tank during extreme weather; some models incorporate heating modules to cope with low temperatures. For long-term placement, it is recommended to install a waterproof垫层 (waterproof layer) to prevent seepage from brick-concrete basement floors.

Deployment Considerations

  1. Space Planning
The standard size for a single pit is 1.2m × 1.5m, with a minimum reserved通道宽度 (aisle width) of 0.8m. Priority should be given to corner areas near garage entrances, elevator lobbies, or ventilation shafts to avoid occupying standard parking spaces and to stay away from driving paths.

  2. Maintenance Cycles
It is recommended to clean the sewage tank every 200 uses when it is full to prevent odor diffusion. Regularly add degradation bacteria agents or replace activated carbon filters, and use timed spray deodorization devices to reduce complaint rates by approximately 40%.

  3. Safety Precautions
Choose materials with a flame retardancy rating of B1 and equip the toilet with emergency lighting. In rental scenarios, the height of the mobile toilet unit should not exceed 2.2 meters to pass through the 2.5-meter height limit gates of underground garages.

Type Selection Recommendations

Sewage storage types are suitable for short-term events or low-frequency use scenarios, with purchase prices ranging from approximately 3000-5000 yuan. Recirculating water flush types are suitable for high-frequency use in office areas, with unit prices ranging from 8000-12000 yuan. Biodegradable types are suitable for places with high environmental requirements, with prices exceeding 20000 yuan.
