Mobile Toilet Squat Position Size
Quản trị 28 tháng 9, 2026
The size of the squat position in a mobile toilet should be comprehensively determined based on the door opening direction and actual needs. The specific regulations and recommendations are as follows:

I. Net Size Standards Required by Regulations
According to GB55031-2022 'General Code for Civil Buildings', the net size of the squat position in a mobile toilet should meet the following conditions:
- Exterior-opening door cubicle: The net size of the squat toilet should be no less than 0.9 meters (width) × 1.2 meters (length). This size ensures that users have sufficient space to turn around and move, avoiding the impact on comfort due to the door opening direction occupying internal space.
- Interior-opening door cubicle: The net size of the squat toilet should be no less than 0.9 meters (width) × 1.4 meters (length). For interior-opening doors, space needs to be reserved for the door to open, so the length requirement is 0.2 meters longer than that for exterior-opening doors to prevent the door from colliding with the squat toilet or the user.
II. Reference for Single Squat Toilet Size
The actual size of the squat toilet directly affects the minimum space requirement of the squat position:
- Regular size: A squat toilet without a water trap has a length of 525 millimeters (0.525 meters) and a width of 430 millimeters (0.43 meters).
- Size with water trap: The width increases to 460 millimeters (0.46 meters), while the length remains unchanged. The water trap is used to prevent the backflow of odors, but it occupies a small amount of lateral space, so additional width needs to be reserved during design.
III. Recommendations for Overall Space Optimization
In addition to the net size required by regulations, the following factors should also be considered in actual design:
- Length recommendation: The overall space length should be at least 1 meter, with an ideal value of 1.5 meters. A length of 1 meter is the basic usage length, which can meet the installation requirements of the squat toilet and the activity needs of users; a length of 1.5 meters can provide more abundant space, facilitating the placement of cleaning tools or auxiliary facilities (such as handrails).
- Width range: It is recommended that the width be 85 centimeters (0.85 meters) to 1.2 meters. A width of 85 centimeters is the minimum width required to meet the regulations and is suitable for scenarios with limited space; a width of 1.2 meters can improve user comfort, especially for public places or special groups (such as the elderly and the disabled).
IV. Design Considerations
- Impact of door opening direction: For interior-opening doors, additional space needs to be reserved for the door to open. Exterior-opening doors should be preferred in design to save space.
- Ventilation and lighting: The size of the squat position should be coordinated with the ventilation and lighting design to avoid poor air circulation or insufficient lighting due to a small space.
- Accessibility requirements: If it is an accessible mobile toilet, the size should be further expanded according to relevant regulations to ensure the turning space for wheelchairs and the installation requirements of auxiliary facilities.
