External Connection of Mobile Toilet Sewage Pipes

Quản trị 10 tháng 10, 2026

Generally, the sewage pipes of mobile toilets cannot be directly connected to the municipal sewage pipe network. Under specific circumstances, connection may be possible after approval and pretreatment operations. There are corresponding specific requirements in Nanchang.

Reasons for the inability to directly connect

The municipal sewage pipe network has specific design standards and acceptance requirements. The sewage generated by mobile toilets has a complex composition, including feces, urine, cleaning agents, and other substances, with significant fluctuations in water volume and quality. If directly connected, it may lead to poor drainage, pipe blockages, and also affect the normal operation of the municipal sewage treatment system. In addition, mobile toilets are set up in a temporarily flexible manner, making it difficult to connect their sewage pipes in accordance with regulations.

Possibility of connection under specific circumstances

Under certain specific circumstances, after strict approval by relevant departments and pretreatment of the sewage from mobile toilets to meet the acceptance standards of the municipal sewage pipe network, and following the standard construction process for connection, it may be possible to connect with the municipal sewage pipe network. However, such cases are relatively rare and are subject to many restrictions, such as the treatment capacity of the pretreatment equipment and the conditions of the construction site.

Specific requirements in Nanchang

  • Connection to the municipal sewage pipe network: In Nanchang, the sewage pipes of mobile toilets should be connected to the municipal sewage pipe network as much as possible. If this is not possible, temporary sewage treatment facilities should be set up, and the sewage can only be discharged after treatment to meet the standards.
  • Handling procedures: When connecting to the municipal pipe network, it is necessary to communicate with the local drainage department in advance and go through the relevant procedures to ensure compliance with municipal drainage regulations.
  • Pipe setting requirements: The sewage pipes should be installed in low-lying areas that are not prone to waterlogging. The pipe diameter should be determined according to the number of mobile toilets and their frequency of use. Generally, the diameter of the main pipe should be no less than 110mm, and the diameter of the branch pipe should be no less than 75mm. The pipe layout should match the layout of the mobile toilets as much as possible, minimizing bends and intersections. The slope should be reasonably designed, with a general drainage slope of no less than 3‰. Durable and pressure-resistant materials such as PVC pipes or HDPE pipes should be selected. The pipe joints should be well-sealed and firmly installed, and the pipe burial depth should generally be no less than 500mm.
