Mobile Toilet Self-Made Tutorial

You can refer to the following three methods to make a mobile toilet, and choose the appropriate plan according to the materials and needs:

Method 1: Water Storage Bucket Modification Type

1. Material Preparation and Cutting: Select a household water storage bucket and split it in half along the centerline with an angle grinder, keeping the upper half as the roof.
2. Mobile and Support Structure: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of a wooden board, and fix wooden strips to the upper side of the bucket with self-tapping screws to increase the height and form a frame.
3. Wall and Door Frame: Cut a doorway on the side of the water storage bucket, install sponge strips to form a door frame, and embed plastic soft boards to form an elevated wall.
4. Drainage System: Drill a hole at the bottom of the bucket to install a drain pipe (floor drain), drill a hole on the side to connect a direct joint, drill another hole at the bottom to install another joint; place a plastic bucket on the roof as a small water storage device.
5. Equipment Installation:
   • Bathing: Make a bath heater with a water pipe, and install a three-way joint below the inlet pipe to connect the shower head; place the toilet on the drain pipe hole, install a water tank and fix it with glass glue, and connect the drain pipe to the sewage bucket.
   • Hand Washing: Extend the three-way joint of the outlet pipe horizontally to the doorway as the inlet pipe of the hand washing basin, install a joint and a hose, and drill a hole in the door for fixation.

Method 2: Water Storage Tank Stacking Type

1. Basic Mobile Structure: Fix universal wheels at the bottom of a plastic pallet and place recycled water storage tanks.
2. Tank Body Processing: Use an angle grinder to cut the top of the water storage tank to form an opening, stack two open tank bodies and fix the outer frame with self-tapping screws.
3. Doorway and Drainage: Cut a rectangular doorway 180 cm high and 50 cm wide on the outer frame, drill a hole in the internal floor to install an elbow and a water pipe (seal the gaps), align the toilet with the drain hole and fix it with glue.
4. Faucet and Hand Washing Basin: Fix a water pipe on the wall with a clip, install a faucet, fix a stainless steel basin below with a pipe cap as a hand washing basin, and connect the drain pipe.
5. Other Equipment: Connect the inlet pipe of the toilet water tank and the shower hose, install a bracket and a toilet seat; fix hinges on the frame to connect wooden boards to form a door, and install a door handle.

Method 3: Lightweight Modular Type

1. Water Storage Bucket Selection: Select a food-grade PE material (such as a 100L capacity), install universal wheels with brakes at the bottom, and drill two holes on the side of the bucket body (one for connecting an outlet pipe with a small faucet, and the other for installing an overflow pipe).
2. Frame Construction: Use PVC pipes to make a 1.2m×0.8m square frame, surround it with Oxford cloth waterproof cloth, and leave a ventilation opening at the top; place a folding toilet (with degradable plastic bags) on the bucket, and place a small hand washing basin next to it to connect the outlet pipe.
3. Detail Optimization: Install a float switch in the bucket to remind you to add water, and place an anti-slip mat at the bottom; the wastewater can be used to flush the toilet or water the flowers; wrap thermal insulation cotton in winter to prevent freezing.

Precautions:

• Wear goggles and gloves during cutting operations to avoid injury from flying debris from the angle grinder.
• Use special glue or glass glue to seal the drain pipes to prevent leakage.
• The mobile toilet needs to be cleaned regularly to keep it hygienic.
