How to Connect Power to a Mobile Toilet

Quản trị 02 tháng 10, 2026

The connection of power to a mobile toilet should be carried out by a professional electrician, strictly adhering to safety regulations and equipment requirements. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Electrical Qualifications and Safety Regulations

Electrical connection work must be completed by a unit or individual with electrical construction qualifications, using certified electricians, and clearly defining electrical responsibilities in the contract. The distribution box should be installed in a dry and ventilated location, equipped with rainproof facilities, and the internal air switch should match the equipment power. Unauthorized connections or overloading are strictly prohibited. For example, if the total equipment power is 12kW, a circuit breaker matching the power should be configured to avoid overloading and potential fires.

2. Power Cord and Equipment Matching

  1. Check whether the power cord specifications that come with the mobile toilet meet the electrical requirements to avoid overloading. For example, when connecting to a 380V three-phase five-wire system, a YJV-0.6/1kV-4×16+1×10 cross-linked polyethylene insulated cable (copper core cross-section ≥ 16mm²) should be selected.
  2. Temporary power cords should be waterproof and sun-resistant. If the length exceeds 10 meters, a leakage protector should be installed to prevent electrical leakage risks.

3. Grounding and Anti-Leakage Measures

  1. All mobile toilets must be reliably grounded, with a grounding resistance of ≤4Ω. The grounding body should be made of galvanized steel pipes or angle steel, buried at a depth of not less than 0.6 meters, and regularly tested for effectiveness.
  2. The distribution box should include a leakage protector (e.g., 30mA specification), and leakage should be thoroughly checked after rain. For example, sensor faucets require a DC12V/0.5A power supply, and electric heating tape devices require a 220V/15W/m power supply, both of which must be distributed through the distribution box and ensure proper leakage protection functionality.

4. Equipment Power Supply Methods

  1. AC Transformer Power Supply: Use a male-female plug for connection. The two exposed connectors are for AC power wiring, and the red male-female wire is usually the power wire, which needs to be paired and plugged into the sensor circuit.
  2. Battery Power Supply: If an external battery is used, do not connect to the AC power supply; instead, directly connect to the battery connector.

5. Construction Process and Materials

  1. Path Planning: Cables should be laid along the edge of sidewalks. When crossing vehicle lanes, they should be protected with galvanized steel pipes, and the bending radius should be ≥12 times the cable diameter.
  2. Box Installation: The distribution box should be fixed to the exterior wall of the public toilet (1.5 meters above the ground) and reliably connected to the grounding main line (6mm² copper wire cross-section).
  3. Material List: Includes flame-retardant Class B cables, PZ30-16 circuit distribution boxes, Φ50mm PVC conduit, 50×50×5mm galvanized angle steel grounding electrodes, etc.

Precautions: Electrical connections must comply with standards such as the Code for Design of Low Voltage Electrical Installations (GB50054-2011). In rainy areas, enhanced moisture-proof and corrosion-resistant measures should be taken, and electrical safety clauses should be clearly defined in the lease contract.
