Mobile Toilet Opening Regulations

Quản trị 24 tháng 9, 2026

The opening regulations for mobile toilets generally refer to the relevant content in the pilot program of New York City, as follows:

Opening Hours: Mobile toilets are typically open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. This time setting fully takes into account the daily activity patterns of most people, providing services during periods when people are more frequently on the move, and meeting their toilet needs in public places. For example, office workers on their way to work or running errands, as well as citizens engaging in shopping or leisure activities during the day, can conveniently use mobile toilets during this time frame.

Usage Time Limit: Each use is limited to 10 minutes. When the user approaches the time limit, the toilet will flash lights and play voice reminders in English and Spanish. This is to ensure the efficient turnover of mobile toilets and prevent individual users from occupying them for extended periods, affecting the use of others. If the user has not left by 10 minutes and 30 seconds, the toilet door will automatically open. This strict time limit measure helps improve the usage efficiency of mobile toilets, especially in areas with high foot traffic, allowing more people to use them promptly when needed.

Opening Locations: Mobile toilets are usually placed in locations with high foot traffic, such as Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. These areas have dense populations and frequent commercial activities, and people have a greater need for public toilets during their daily outings, work, and shopping. Placing mobile toilets in these locations can effectively alleviate the shortage of public toilet resources in the local area and provide convenience for citizens and tourists.

Entry Methods: Users can open the door to enter a mobile toilet in various ways. First, via text message: after sending a specific text message, the system will respond with an opening instruction. Second, by scanning a QR code: users can scan the QR code on the toilet door with their mobile phones and follow the prompts to open the door. Third, using an application: after completing relevant operations in a dedicated application, the toilet door can be opened. Fourth, by using a sensor card issued by community partner organizations to open the door. These diverse entry methods fully consider the usage habits and technological levels of different groups of people, facilitating the use of mobile toilets by all types of individuals.
