Mobile Toilet Odor Removal
Quản trị 24 tháng 9, 2026
Odor removal in mobile toilets can be achieved through physical, chemical, biological deodorization methods, or comprehensive solutions, as detailed below:

Physical Deodorization Methods
- Ventilation and Air Exchange: Install exhaust fans or natural ventilation systems to expel stale air from the toilet and introduce fresh air. It is recommended to have at least 10 air exchanges per hour to effectively reduce odor concentration. This method removes odor molecules through air circulation, is suitable for all types of mobile toilets, and is cost-effective and simple to operate.
- Activated Carbon Adsorption: Use high-iodine-value (≥1000mg/g) activated carbon, whose microporous structure efficiently adsorbs odor molecules such as hydrogen sulfide and ammonia. Place 1 - 2 kg of activated carbon per cubic meter of space and replace it monthly to maintain good adsorption performance. Activated carbon adsorption is highly targeted and has no secondary pollution, but regular replacement is necessary to ensure adsorption capacity.
Chemical Deodorization Methods
- Oxidizing Deodorants: Solutions like chlorine dioxide (ClO₂), with a recommended concentration of 0.1 - 0.3 ppm, can oxidize and decompose mercaptans and amines. Spray every 4 hours to effectively remove odors. Oxidizing deodorants have significant deodorization effects, but their concentration must be strictly controlled during use to avoid harm to humans and the environment.
- Masking Deodorants: Plant essential oil formulations containing limonene or citronellol mask odors with fragrance molecules. Suitable for temporary event venues, with a duration of about 2 - 3 hours. Masking deodorants are easy to use but only temporarily mask odors and do not address the root cause.
Biological Deodorization Methods
- Composite Microbial Agents: Agents containing Bacillus subtilis (≥1×10⁸ CFU/g) and nitrifying bacteria can decompose urea in urine and proteins in feces. Add 50 g of the agent per 10 liters of excreta, achieving a decomposition efficiency of over 90%. Biological deodorization is environmentally friendly and reduces odor production at the source, but its action time is relatively long.
- Biological Enzyme Deodorization System: Immobilized enzyme reactors can continuously treat exhaust gases, with an ammonia removal rate exceeding 85% and an operating cost of about 0.5 yuan per cubic meter. This system is efficient and stable, suitable for mobile toilets with high deodorization requirements.
Comprehensive Deodorization Solutions
- Three-Stage Treatment System: Primary physical filtration (PP cotton + activated carbon) + intermediate chemical oxidation (UV photocatalysis) + terminal biological degradation, with an overall deodorization efficiency of ≥95%, comprehensively removing odors in mobile toilets.
- Intelligent Control System: An ammonia sensor (detection range 0 - 100 ppm) triggers a spray device, automatically initiating the deodorization program when the concentration exceeds 20 ppm, enabling intelligent odor management.
