Mobile Toilet Without Settlement
If a mobile toilet lacks settlement space, drainage and usability issues can be resolved through platform design, optimized drainage engineering, enhanced waterproofing measures, and improved detail handling, as follows:

1. Platform Design
In a mobile toilet without settlement, a platform approximately 20 cm high can be constructed to address drainage slope issues by raising the floor. The platform should reserve space for squat toilet installation, ensuring a distance of about 18 cm from the floor to meet drainage needs while maintaining user comfort. It is recommended to use waterproof and moisture-resistant concrete or lightweight panels for the platform material to prevent structural damage caused by moisture over long-term use.
2. Drainage Engineering Optimization
The drainage system is the core of a toilet without settlement and requires selecting an appropriate solution based on usage scenarios:
- Three-way drainage: Connect the drainage outlets of the toilet and sink to a three-way fitting, then to the main drainage pipe; the shower room drainage outlet should also be connected to the three-way system. This solution is cost-effective but prone to blockages due to multiple pipe bends and odor backflow, necessitating regular pipe cleaning and installation of odor-proof floor drains.
- Centralized floor drain drainage: Unify the drainage outlets of the sink, shower room, and floor into a high-flow floor drain, then connect to the main drainage pipe. Choose a floor drain with a drainage capacity of ≥1.0 L/s and avoid using multiple drainage outlets simultaneously to prevent drainage issues.
- Wall-mounted pipe installation: Lay drainage pipes along the wall and connect sanitary fixtures using a wall-mounted approach. This solution saves space and facilitates maintenance but requires advance planning of pipe routes to ensure alignment with fixture positions. Additionally, slots must be cut in the wall to embed pipes, increasing construction difficulty.
3. Waterproofing Measure Enhancement
Waterproofing in a toilet without settlement requires "triple protection":
- Floor waterproofing: Apply polyurethane waterproof coating 2-3 times with a thickness of ≥1.5 mm, extending it more than 30 cm up the wall; the junction between the platform and floor should be rounded to prevent waterproof layer cracking.
- Wall waterproofing: The waterproofing height for shower area walls should be no less than 1.8 m, and no less than 0.3 m for other areas; pipe penetrations should be sealed with waterproof mortar and coated with waterproofing material.
- Pipe waterproofing: Wrap the base of drainage pipes with sealant or waterproof sleeves to prevent water infiltration into the structural layer.
4. Detail Handling Improvement
- Drain layout: Position floor drains near the shower area or high-water-usage zones and ensure a 2%-3% floor drainage slope.
- Fixture selection: Prioritize water-saving toilets and sinks with splash-proof features to reduce drainage pressure; install water barriers in shower rooms to prevent water overflow.
- Ventilation and lighting: Install exhaust fans or fresh air systems to maintain air circulation; use translucent materials or add auxiliary lighting to enhance space brightness.
