Mobile Toilet & Mobile Restroom
Mobile toilets (mobile restrooms) are facilities that can be moved as a whole and provide toilet services to the public. They are suitable for various locations and come in multiple types and can be homemade in different ways.

Definition and Suitable Locations
A mobile toilet refers to a facility that can be moved in its entirety and is set up at locations with fixed or temporary needs to provide toilet services to the public and customers. It is suitable for stations, docks, tourist attractions, villa areas, newly built residential communities, large construction sites, squares, densely populated public places, and bustling commercial streets.
Composition Structure
Generally, it consists of a fecal sewage storage tank (or fecal sewage treatment device), floor slab, sanitary ware, walls, washing equipment, water tank, roof, and mobile device.
Type Classification
- By structural form: There are single-structure mobile toilets and composite-structure mobile toilets. Single-structure ones are relatively independent and simple, while composite-structure ones may be composed of multiple parts and have more complex functions.
- By moving method: There are lifting and handling-type mobile toilets, which rely on lifting equipment or manual handling for movement; and powered and towed-type mobile toilets, which can be moved with the help of power devices or vehicles.
- By sewage treatment method: There are water-flushing and waterless-flushing suction-type mobile toilets. Water-flushing ones use water for cleaning, while waterless-flushing suction-type ones treat feces through suction. There are also circulating water-flushing mobile toilets that recycle water, and dry-packing mobile toilets that pack feces without using water.
Homemade Methods
- Using a water storage tank and a pallet: Fix universal wheels at the four corners of the bottom of the pallet, place a water storage tank recycled from a garbage station, use an angle grinder to cut and form an open tank, stack and fix two open tanks, cut out a doorway, install drainage devices, a toilet, a faucet, a washbasin, a showerhead, etc. inside, and finally install a door.
- Building with several buckets: Install universal wheels on a wooden board as the base, place cut buckets on it and fix them with wooden strips, cut the buckets to make entrances and exits, heighten them with aluminum-plastic panels, install bucket lids, process and install wooden doors, drill holes at the bottom to connect drainage pipes, install water pipe connectors on the side buckets, use PVC pipes to splice and make showerheads, install toilets and apply sealant.
