Tile Installation for Mobile Toilet Floors

Quản trị 08 tháng 10, 2026

When laying tiles on the floor of a mobile toilet, it is recommended to choose types with outstanding non-slip performance, such as full-body tiles, mosaic tiles, and antique/matte tiles. Glazed tiles are only suitable for dry areas. Additionally, attention should be paid to brand craftsmanship and special designs to enhance non-slip properties and durability.

I. Basis for Tile Type Selection

  1. Full-body Tiles: These tiles have a rough surface and uniform internal material, with a water absorption rate of less than 0.5%. They have a wear resistance rating of PEI 4 or higher and a non-slip coefficient (friction coefficient) of up to 0.6 or more, making them suitable for humid environments. After long-term use, surface wear does not significantly reduce non-slip performance, making them especially suitable for high-frequency use scenarios.
  2. Mosaic Tiles: Individual mosaic tiles are typically smaller than 10cm×10cm. The segmented design enhances non-slip properties by increasing the friction of the contact surface. However, the gaps account for 15%-20% of the area, making them prone to dirt accumulation. Daily cleaning of the gaps is required, making them suitable for small spaces with limited budgets (e.g., mobile toilets under 2㎡).
  3. Glazed Tiles: The glazed layer on the surface can temporarily enhance friction through texture design (e.g., imitation stone or wood grain). However, the friction coefficient drops from 0.5 to below 0.3 when wet, so they are only recommended for dry areas (e.g., mobile toilets equipped with powerful exhaust fans).
  4. Antique/Matte Tiles: The surface is pressed with a mold to create concave-convex textures (depth 0.5-1mm) or uses a matte glaze to reduce reflectivity. The friction coefficient remains stable between 0.55-0.65, and the dense glaze (porosity <3%) facilitates cleaning, making them suitable for budget-conscious scenarios that require both practicality and aesthetics.

II. Brand and Craftsmanship Recommendations

  1. Brand Selection: Brands such as Marco Polo, Dongpeng, and Nobel employ microcrystalline glass glaze technology, with glaze layers over 1.2mm thick, improving wear resistance by 30%. Dongpeng's "Concave-Convex Textured Tiles" are molded in one piece, ensuring uniform texture depth and more stable non-slip properties.
  2. Craftsmanship Optimization: Prioritize non-slip grid tiles (with a grid-like recessed surface) or special texture designs (e.g., wave or diamond patterns) to further increase friction. For example, Nobel's "Non-slip Glaze Technology" adds high-hardness particles to the glaze layer, increasing surface roughness by 50% and achieving a non-slip coefficient of 0.7.

III. Purchase Considerations

  1. Non-slip Rating: Check the product test report and select tiles with a friction coefficient of ≥0.5, meeting the requirements for "non-slip tiles" in the GB/T 4100-2015 standard.
  2. Water Absorption Rate: Given the humid environment of mobile toilets, choose tiles with a water absorption rate of ≤0.5% to prevent moisture penetration, which can lead to hollow drums or mold.
  3. Size Suitability: For small spaces (e.g., under 3㎡), 30cm×30cm or smaller tiles are recommended to reduce cutting waste. For larger spaces, 60cm×60cm tiles can enhance the overall aesthetic.
