Mengla County Container House

Quản trị 16 tháng 9, 2026

There is relatively little information about container houses in Mengla County, but there are application cases of containers in the logistics and transportation field.

Container Applications in Logistics and Transportation in Mengla County

In Mengpeng Town, Mengla County, to address the issue of winter vegetable transportation, efforts were made to actively secure 6 million yuan in funding from the 2024 “Four-in-One” project for promoting rural revitalization through party building. With this funding, 24 cold-chain logistics containers were purchased. These containers have spurred corporate investments of over 80 million yuan, leading to the establishment of supporting facilities such as foam box factories, plastic crate factories, and logistics parks. Through the rapid transfer of containers via sea, rail, and road transportation, the quality of fresh vegetable transportation has been effectively improved, ensuring the freshness and integrity of vegetables during transit and reducing losses.

Logistics and Transportation Development in Mengla County

  • Opportunities Brought by the China-Laos Railway: Since its opening more than four years ago, the China-Laos Railway has seen cumulative imports and exports of goods under the supervision of Mengla Customs exceed 19 million tons, with a value exceeding 80 billion yuan. The annual growth rate of import and export scale has exceeded 24%, radiating 19 countries and regions including Laos and Thailand, and serving over 6,000 enterprises across the country. This has provided a vast market and convenient transportation conditions for container transportation, enabling containers to flow more efficiently between domestic and international locations. For example, Vichai, the owner of a durian plantation in Chanthaburi Province, Thailand, previously faced difficulties in exporting durians to China by sea, which took more than half a month and was affected by soaring sea freight rates and a shortage of containers. After using the China-Laos Railway, freshly picked durians from Thai orchards can reach customers in Kunming, China, in just 7 days, significantly shortening the transportation time and reducing costs.
  • Logistics Development at Guanlei Port: Guanlei Port, known as the “Number One Port on the Lancang River” in China, is the only water transport port in Yunnan Province. It focuses on the development of industries such as warehousing logistics and international freight. Although there is no explicit mention of container houses at present, the development of the port is inseparable from container transportation. In the future, as business expands, there may be certain application prospects for container houses in the construction of supporting facilities related to the port.
